I dont think They looked spectacular But I am high on Nebraska because of the way they Play d which looked just fine. Wisconsin is not overrated, remember they smoked Miami in their bowl last year as well and this year they already beat a tough AZ St. Team. When they don't turn the ball over twice against weaker competion they put up 70. Finnaly they have the best O Line in collegefootball, In a game against TCU I would expect the line to get a 2-4 yard push on 90% of running plays, and with the talent they have at RB simply grind TCU down

NU was only up 14-3 at home against a winless Div1AA school in the 4th quarter. TCU beats a good SMU team on the road and you discount the TCU victory (and the quality of SMU's team). Just sounds like a BCS slant even thought its probably not meant that way.

If you think TCU has an easy schedule, check out NU. They only play one ranked opponent (UT which is currently at #21).

Arizona State has 2 wins this year...Portland State and Northern Arizona. Maybe Wisconsin and Oregon are overrated??? All depends on perspective I guess.

As long as the voters and computers believe we are top 5 then the opinions of our opponents really doesn't matter. However, it sounds like GP is realizing he is going to have to hurt some opposing coaches feelings which is pretty sad. He should have played for a TD on our last possession versus running out the clock. Your D was gassed. 48-24 has a different ring. We also should have held the peddle down against BU (they question our ranking also) and screamed past 70 like Oregon would.

Dalton was throwing behind his receivers all night and we still won comfortably. He has not been sharp in the last three away games against Boise, OSU and SMU with 2 ints in each. Troublesome but correctable unlike Bo Levi.

NickSMU17,

You should go back and read your posts. You sound like a complete moron. The only way you can cope with your team losing, AGAIN, is trying to rip on the team that just beat you. Tell us we don't deserve a high ranking, tell us we suck, please, its hilarious. You can [deleted] and moan all you want, but in the end we make it to BCS games, we ARE ranked in the top 5 regardless of your pathetic opinion. Now, write your response and explain how we are sooo overrated and don't deserve anything, then sit back and remember you lost, we won, and thats all that matters. [deleted] tool.

Chill dude - you are about to throw a gasket....The posters are not saying TCU sucks - that would indeed be a stupid and incorrect thing to say. The prevailing opinion amongst those that were at the game is that TCU did not look like a top 5 team. Even TCU people i have talked to since say as much. That would be the opinion any time an unranked team matches the offensive output in yards of their supposed top 5 opponant. Unfortunately for us - there is more to the game then that -(thus the loss).

all we are saying is you are overrated by about 5 - 10 spots. Its abanduntly clear that is true - but it doesnt mean it will change anything going forward for ya'll.

p.s. - per the other froggie poster - dont think GP was letting up - he went for it on fourth down remember.

TCU has a very nice team as we all know. And they, like Boise, have gotten as far as they will get.

Without a strong conference perception, they will be fighting a handful of teams for a BCS bowl invite. Makes for a very nice season. But they won't play for a BCS Title even if they run the table.

They have scoreboard right now over SMU, but that won't last forever, and the frogs know it.

While they may do well in a one-game showdown in a bowl against a Big 12 or SEC school, all of America recognizes they don't have the guns to go through a regular season in those, and other, big time conferences.

An indicator is the high school recruits on the sidelines for their games (and SMU). Not all, but most of those kids won't get a sniff from Big 12, PAC 10, or SEC schools. Those numbers are trending in SMU's favor, but you have to know frogland has hit their limit.

When you become a big time football power, you won't be able to pull up outside of your basketball arena two hours before kickoff and get a parking spot.

Kudos on a very nice team though.

You really have to use convoluted logic to convince yourself that recruiting is "trending" SMU's way. SMU is trying to play catch up to TCU in recruiting and TCU's recruiting gets better and better every year. Now generally in about the Top 30 for the last 3 years by average per recruit. And by the way the vast majority of TCU recruits have multiple BCS offers and have for many years-don't know where you got that idea.

Stallion...

I am not sure how you can be such a proponent of recruiting to rank correlation and then discount the fact that TCU has never been in the top 25 rivals recruiting rankings....

Just a question, b/c either you have to concede that coaching can make up large the difference or TCU doesn't belong...

Just want to know...

As for the random Frog poster up above...I watched the game, I was not impressed by TCU...you can take that however you want...

go eat a dikc...

Really? My message was only in response to all the "crying" I have seen on here. We played terrible on friday. Now, that does not mean SMU is not good, because i believe the opposite. I think your team is obviously superior to baylor, and truly every team in your conference(with Houston hurting). My point being, if you put TCU up against any of those top 10 teams, and they play up to their potential, we compete, easily. You can't judge our whole season/ability based off ONE game, on the road, where we played POORLY and still won by 17.

Well obviously there was only one team on the field and they just played poorly...you know sort of like a golfer had a bad day.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

What you fail to mention is that SMU also played "poorly." Just look at Padron's passing stats.

Sometimes, teams play "poorly" because of their opponents.

My point is that SMU's recruiting is getting better and at a faster pace when compared to others. SMU is not on par with TCU at this point in recruiting, but the gap is narrowing. Looking at the offers TCU current commits have (on Rivals) there are a handful of guys who had a lot of impressive offers from BCS conference schools. But not the majority.

And no 4 stars, and most of the BCS offers (again, MOST) are from the lower end of of BCS conferences. Impressive, yes, but certainly not on par with the top 4 or 5 teams in every BCS conference. SMU doesn't have far or long to go to get very close to the recruiting level of TCU. IMHO.

I believe that the Ponies will be at a point in a few short years where most of the commits will be 3 star and better.

TCU, for the team they have and the season they had last year, should have attracted a few 4 star commits for 2011. They haven't yet.
