The prevailing opinion amongst those that were at the game is that TCU did not look like a top 5 team. Even TCU people i have talked to since say as much. That would be the opinion any time an unranked team matches the offensive output in yards of their supposed top 5 opponant. Unfortunately for us - there is more to the game then that -(thus the loss).

all we are saying is you are overrated by about 5 - 10 spots. Its abanduntly clear that is true - but it doesnt mean it will change anything going forward for ya'll.

p.s. - per the other froggie poster - dont think GP was letting up - he went for it on fourth down remember.

And ran it into the stack. He could have play actioned, which was money the entire second half. Get real. Apparently, everyone that matters still think we are top 5 so get yourself a big steaming bowl of that. We will see the next few weeks if we were your one game season or if you will actually become some kind of contender. I hope the latter but fear the former.

And we'll see if you guys have the stomach to get through Salt Lake City since that's been a problem city for you. Ross Evans missing chip shot field goals....

And then there's the great depth in the MWC with winless New Mexico, 1-win UNLV which just beat winless New Mexico and crappy Colorado State, whom you should beat by 55 points? And it's looking like BYU is very average and AFA is typical AFA but not solid enough to beat you here.

I think you're season is a one-game season against the Utes.

Impressive, yes, but certainly not on par with the top 4 or 5 teams in every BCS conference. SMU doesn't have far or long to go to get very close to the recruiting level of TCU. IMHO.

I believe that the Ponies will be at a point in a few short years where most of the commits will be 3 star and better.

TCU, for the team they have and the season they had last year, should have attracted a few 4 star commits for 2011. They haven't yet.

Like we tell Baylor, you concentrate on Rivals and we will concentrate on recruiting PLAYERS. We are faster and more athletic than any team in the Big 12. Aggie is slower than a plow horse but they have that sweet February Rivals ranking. Plus we dont have to put up with the Entitlement Syndrome many of the 4*-5* kids have. GP wont stand for it. Did you see any taunting or crazy trash talk from our guys on the field? Didnt think so.

BTW, Mike Riley at OSU had some interesting comments about our athletes comapared to what he has seen as a head coach in the PAC 10. So, put your rival ranking in a tortilla with some guac and shove it.

I have never heard so much smack from a team with 15K fans that just got casually beat down. When we reload next year and roll you in the Fort I will be anxious to see the smack.

You mean if our "guy" has the stomach. The others did for sure as we dominated for 58 minutes. Dont think if he is lining up from 35 to win or lose we wont be crapping our pants.

It will be a wild atmosphere as usual. This year we do it. No way they win the Mtn in their last year. AF will prolly beat them as well.

FWIW Rivals is currently ranking your class No. 2 behind Utah in the MWC. Given what Utah has accomplished and what you guys have accomplished, they aren't a bunch of dunderheads evaluating talent?

You're program is ranked 30th overall in the nation by Rivals. I don't know even know where we're ranked. 60s or 70s? We know where we're at. If we were running 5 or 6, that would be a miracle. What we're seeing is that the No. 2 ranking in CUSA reveals how much the better the inflow of potential that's coming to SMU.

We didn't get to 8-5 because we stunk at it.

Rivals didn't get this reputation because they were making it up.

So in response. You are recruiting PLAYERS. Rivals has rated your class excellent to this point and it will probably go up before Feb. 2.

Getting them in here is one thing. Knowing what to do with them and getting them to perform at the next level is another. You guys are doing that. We appear to be in the early stages of doing that.

So knock it off.
