Interview with Zach Line

Postby Webmaster » Wed Sep 29, 2010 3:30 pm

Yesterday after practice, PonyFans.com visited with sophomore running back Zach Line to get his thoughts on his performance against TCU and the upcoming match against the Rice Owls.

Enjoy!

I think it is good to let the team know about that streak as a lot of the players and coaches were not aware of this.

Good job.

It's been impressive how he's transformed from a linebacker, to primarily a short yardage guy last year, and into a serious running threat this year. If he can continue at this level and our passing game gets a little more consistent as we head into the heart of conference play, it's going to be harder to game plan against us. Shawnbrey leaving early for the draft seemed like it was going to leave a big hole in the offense, but it's so great to see a guy step up, take the role, and do well.

It helps that he was a Running Back in High school, but recruited to play linebacker. I'm guessing he was considered a touch slow for a D1 RB, but that was just a guess. The article from his hometown paper a few weeks back shed some light on his recruiting:

(Props to SMU89 for finding this)
