Re: Recruiting - YENGA decommitskids have different priorities when they're that age...with his friends all going to one school, it may seem like the right choice, even though Baylor sucks. Maybe he's AFRAID to play in his brother's shadow and have the comparisons made. My guess is he commits to BU this weekend on his visit.
And we wind up with Burks; possibly a better and MORE TALENTED player.

Well played ponydawg. ![]() Last edited by PK on Fri Oct 01, 2010 11:44 am, edited 1 time in total.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: Recruiting - YENGA decommitsThank you ponydawg. I was going to have to search for that. The committee has been stable for a while but occasionally we find ourselves, just out of habit, telling a member to leave simply because we did not want them......anyway.

Re: Recruiting - YENGA decommitsthis was expected all along, right?
of the little I've heard, he's always waffled about his commitment. I'm sure it is a mutual loss, to some degree. but, we will continue to get better and outstanding players. and, to my way of thinking, it is better to have fully committed players than those who are not. hopefully, he will find a place where he is willing to develop his talents wholeheartedly.

A
Re: Recruiting - YENGA decommitswow, thanks, Nick.
Re: Recruiting - YENGA decommitsI seriously doubt it was a mutual loss. He is/was probably our 2nd or 3rd highest rated recruit on the best team in the state. Dont kid yourself, we need him back......and btw, just because he decommitted doesn't mean he won't come back.
SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

Re: Recruiting - YENGA decommitsYou've got to think his brother will have plenty of time to sway him back to SMU between the end of our football season and national signing day. If he decides not to come here, then I hope he does well wherever he goes. But if he's anything like Youri, man I hope he comes back to the fold!
