Not a stellar fir=st half but a two position lead is always good

From the Rice board:

Ja'Gared Davis is single handedly neutering our offense.

i'd rather have unreturnable kick offs then the random field goal - we have lost more games due to run backs and field posession then because we couldnt hit long field goals.

Sala does the kick offs and is consistently very short. We really need better kick offs.

Szymanski is kicking FG and punts, Sada on kickoffs only

I understand that Szy is not kicking off. Maybe he should be as our kick offs are much too short. There were kick offs in the UAB and WSU games, which I saw in person on my annual pilgrimage to Dallas, that did not make it to the 15 yard line. In addition the kicks were fairly low and allowed the returner to take them on the run. Kick offs are a real problem in my opinion.

Yeah, I'm glad Line is back so these short yardage situations will get a lot more favorable for us. If he had played the entire 1st half then we'd be up at least 21-3.

Can someone who is listening to the Ticket broadcast tell me why Szymanski isn't placekicking?

They said earlier he has a hip flexor, so I guess we won't see Matt, except for punts.
