Bring on Eric Dickerson and Switzer
Here's my idea for next year's coaching staff:
head coach-Barry Switzer
Offensive Coordinator-Eric Dickerson
Asst. Off. Coord.-Craig James
Def.-Same
Asst. Def-Jason Simonton
Special Teams-ME
Asst. Special Teams-Charlie Waters
We need a coach like Switzer that will draw a crowd. A little ****e would do nothing but good for the ponies. tell me what you think.

Re: Bring on Eric Dickerson and Switzer
I think you're just as drunk as Switzer. We want a winner on the Hilltop, but this university WILL win with class (which precludes Switzer).
Having Dickerson around would be incredible for recruiting, if for nothing else.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Look at Texas Tech's basketball program. Last year...no one could give a rats [deleted] who they are. Now, there are daily reports on ESPN to see what is going on. You think Dickerson would be good for recruing and I agree, but nothing is better than national attention. Switzer is exactly what this program needs. They need some fear. He would deliver and the ponies would be better off for it. I hope Copeland reads this. If not Switzer, someone who will provide some controversy. This is why SMU athletics is where they are today. No one is willing to take a chance. If you mess up, fine, but I guarantee we will all be there to watch the games. I stand by my idea-bring on Switzer. I also just decided on my assistant coach-Pete Rose. Thanks

Re: Bring on Eric Dickerson and Switzer
Please, Rogers, not Switzer! He is a fun guy to hang out with at the frat house, but not as our head coach who will represent your future alma mater. If you want people in the stands, how about Denzyl Washington? I saw a movie where he did a good job of coaching. I do like your selection for special teams coach. By mid season, SMU's special teams would be better known as special "forces."

One more thing...I am not drunk. I am however drunk before the football games. Why? Because our coaching staff is so damn boring, so I need something to laugh about. You see, if Switzer was here, I would be able to kick my drinking habit. If anything, hire Switzer for me. Thanks again.

Re: Bring on Eric Dickerson and Switzer
I am now going to listen to my mentor, Graypony. I have changed my mind and have decided to call Denzel. I am on the phone right now. Hopefully this will work out. Thanks graypony, you have shown me the way.
Re: Bring on Eric Dickerson and Switzer
Rogers is a badass mofo.
I love Barry Switzer and I'm a Dallas native...I know the man and I would do almost anything to get him here. However, he's happy doing what he's doing right now, which is nothing. And, I don't believe we are offering the money it would take. Nobody has any fun anymore...what's up with that?
It kills me...I could just die.
I stand by Mr. Jim Copeland...he's our best asset in athletics, PERIOD. Of course, Shaun Heibron is pretty damn cool too.
Again, this does not change a very pertinent and relevant fact: Rogers is a badass mofo.
See you tommorow, RH. Although, i will make a rare appearance at Glorias tonight. (Greenville, not Lemmon) It's a freaking ***** parade out there on Mondays.

Re: Bring on Eric Dickerson and Switzer
Hey ED. I think it would be smart for you to give me Barry's phone number. I will call him and inform him of my ideas. Also, as far as tomorrow's bball game goes. Paint your face, and sit behind the visitors bench. Were getting crazy, on ESPN, then kicked out. Think about that, its gonna happen. Peace

PUT IT ON 1310 THE TICKET. I am about to make a comment.
Re: Bring on Eric Dickerson and Switzer
Since we are brainstorming without boundaries, what about Goldie Hawn? Didn't she do a good job on Wildcats? And if her real life daughter being hired as offensive coordinator would not inspire everyone to become "Comets" in their own way... well, as far as I'm concerned it's a lost cause.
Dennis Rodman? Lucas? A.C. Slater? Let's really get us a champ this time.

Re: Bring on Eric Dickerson and Switzer
How about Emilio Estives(sp)? He got those mighty ducks through.
In reality, I would **** my pants out of joy if we got Barry Switzer. He IS what we need. He is a recruiter and he brings the attention we need. I bet that he would have the same effect on SMU football that Knight is having on Tech Bball.
We need a good coach, great recruiter, who will bring attention to SMU, because a winning record probably still wont sell out Ford every game, but a crazy/flashy/attention getter will.

Re: Bring on Eric Dickerson and Switzer
Pre-Cowboys, I'd say ressurecting Barry Switzer would've been a good idea. But after dealing with him up close...
Barry is just too grossly inpet to handle Dallas. He'd make a laughing stock out of SMU's program. He looked like a goober in front of the sophisticated Dallas media (who delight in uncovering weakness as compared to the Norman media who idolised him) while he was here. He ran the top pro program in the US into the ground. You can see how Oklahoma has suffered since he left.
Nice guy, great personality, but just won't work in this market. Also, SMU would never even look at him given the lose ship he ran in OK (his players got as much bad press as ours did).

If not Switzer, maybe Doug Williams. I think he would be great for the program. I still would also like a coach that went to SMU. Craig James maybe.
