Now that's great! When was the last time we had that many for a game in Houston? When this winning catches on with consistency, there is no telling what we can accomplish in Houston.
We had about 6,000 in 2006. At the time that was the biggest game for SMU in the last 20 years.
You're right. Win that game , and maybe there's no JJ

I think you're confusing 06 with 08 . Your rice tailgate was 08

This was the game SMU needed to go to a bowl with PB. It was my first away game to SMU before I had the pleasure of meeting you and others.

I remember coming home from that game we tailgated at the rest stops all the way home . Cooked out on one of those mini grills it was fun.
I don't remember what year my first SMU home game was. But it was the year UTEP was supposed to come to Dallas and stomp SMU. Putting UCF and UTEP in the championship game. But SMU won forced Tulsa to Orlando for the ship and Tulsa came home with the CUSA title.

I think that was 2006 also. Here was a highlight from the 2006 SMU-UTEP game. I also remember a DD Lee interception http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3YupV814ms

Was at the game last night. Very strong Mustang Club event beforehand and a great turnout by the SMU folks. As for the MOB, the halftime show was horrible as usual. Like really bad. It sent me and my friends running for a beer before it was over.

That's generally the idea.
My son told me the theme was "28 Beers Later" - what would happen if Rice were taken over by fraternity types.

they wouldn't have a theme as lame as "28 beers later" for one. second...have you heard of NOD? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_of_DecadenceThey wouldn't let this happen in a million years at SMU

I had no idea what they were doing, that's what my son (who was there) said it was. Whatever it was, it was lame. And, no, I had never heard of NOD.

The skit was stupid. Their band is weird. At least they play modern music that gets people up and moving. I thought they were fun other than the skit.
Should have gone up to their beer tent in the stadium. We didn't discover that little gem until it was too late.
