Just asking the resident expert since I honestly don't know the answer.

MGG-
You say you know something, but you won't divulge it - wow, aren't you the stand-up guy. While I respect you holding to the principle of Omerta, you are not helping your case by saying you know something and leaving it at that.
You are obviously some kind of conspiracy freak. If you want to discuss conspiracy, why not just take a trip down I-35 to downtown Dallas, head over to the Grassy Knoll and you will find plenty of people willing to discuss conspiracy theories with you. Hell, you might even find a way to tie the SMU administration to the JFK assassination. In the meantime, as my Uncle Junior says, you can go sh*t in your hat.

The number of posts on this thread tells me everything I need to know about whether we need to be playing UNT. Couple weeks ago, I thought we should be playing them because it made geographic sense. I've changed my position. Now, I want to play them so we can hopefully beat the living crap out of them, thereby causing Mean Green Gem to be sad, and talk less.
But this is what it's all about, people. It's called a regional rivalry. I see no downside to playing UNT, as some do. In case you haven't looked, we suck presently. We got nowhere to go but up. If attendance is the issue, they'd definitely bring people to us, and we'd theoretically bring people to them. Let's settle it on the field (or, if need be, in the parking lot, like that extremely articulate coach said a few years back--who was that guy again?).
I personally don't care if we see Okie St. on our schedule for another 5 years.

Thanks for your southern methodist hospitality...
Oh well, I could counter-point with something just as cute'sy------but I won't.
"Going for 4 in '04!"
** Some of you who don't respond to my thoughts have to admit (privately, of course, and for heaven's sake not on this forum) that I have hit on much of the truth on that that we have been discussing.

True:
SMU should play UNT on occasion for the regional fun of it
Not True:
MGG is coherent
UNT is a good school
UNT is not a commuter school
UNT's football team is great because they usually win the sunbelt
UNT outrecruits SMU
UNT would beat SMU at this point in time
SMU conspired to exclude UNT from CUSA
SMU gives a flip what anyone at UNT says or does
You do not have a great track record , buddy.

Closing in on 1,200 views on this thread (thus far) says someone gives a flip, uh, buddy!
And for anyone from SMU to judge what is going on at UNT is tantamount to the Pope making judgement of the going's-on's of the United Methodist Church.

BTW, you left out, uh, "teacher's college" on your fictional list.
Peace.......
PS: Safeway, Piggly-Wiggly, Tom Thumb or Brookshires? Yall name the place? We'll be there! Aloha!
