Has anyone heard anything on SMU's newest coach?

All I know is that I don't want Dinardo. That guy coached in the XFL. What is the story with Winters, Williams, Stoops, Spurrier? Any news in Big D? I know somone has the inside track.

The NCAA will never handout another death penalty. They have learned that all it does is destroy programs. I think Switzer would be the best coach available just because he is the best recruiter in college football history. The guy might be trouble but I don't think it would get that out of hand.

That being said, SMU will never get Switzer. He is to expensive and he probably wouldn't want to work that hard. It would be pretty cool though. I don't like Switzer that much but the guy can recruit.

Barry Switzer, yeah it's a big name but for the wrong reasons. i don't know. But they need to hurry up with the new coach. they are losing recruits fast. and good ones.

What are the wrong reasons? He won national championships at OU, why not at SMU?
We are just being too conservative.

I think Healy knows what he is talking about. The guy is a stud coach. Maybe a little shady but think of all the recruits that would play for him. The guy is a legend for getting big name players. Once again look at what Bobby Knight has done for Texas Tech. Every time they play they get significant air time and media coverage by ESPN. Just think what would happen if we had a big name coach on the Hilltop. People would go to the games. I don't think Switzer would come to SMU but he would turn things around. In a positive sense.

If Barry Switzer becomes the head coach of the SMU Mustangs football program, I'll stand at mid-field at Ford Stadium and kiss a pig! Buy your tickets now! Image

I agree Barry Switzer is the biggest long shot ever, BUT maybe the administration is looking and they make a phone call or two. I guarentee there are some big wig alumni who know Switzer. I know it isn't going to happen but if we talk big then maybe someone will listen. You got to have faith. I mean come on if you are still a Mustang fan you know something about faith.
