Official news releaseFrom: <A HREF="http://www.smumustangs.com/news/01-02/011119football.asp" TARGET=_blank>www.smumustangs.com/news/01-02/011119football.asp</A>
[This message has been edited by PK (edited 11-19-2001).] SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: Official news releaseVery interesting.
Especially Copeland's comment, "For more than a year now, we have been working on a plan that assures winning programs in football and basketball as well as other sports. We will play at the highest level and win consistently in all sports while operating with the highest integrity." For more than a year... assures winning... Obviously, the guy is working on the situation, and it looks like he's approaching this next hire with the proper mindset. "It's a couple hundred million dollars. I'm not losing sleep over it." -- David Miller
