I guess I am too old. When I played you had to catch the ball and cross the goal to score. I guess every time you got beat the other team got 6 points. :D

I am not saying he did not get beat. I said that the passes were off primarily due to the rush and that was very fortunate. It is also true that Padron missed some very open throws that had they been on target would have been scores or very long gains. It works for both teams. Again, 21-18 or 42-39, take your pick(no pun intended).

lol i think dont get beat deep is universal myrdel, even during your time hahaha (j/k...i doubt you're that old). It still looks bad is you're reading the young man's last name as he is racing for a potential deep ball.

I do agree with you there. And yes I am that old.

I am tired of talk about the Tulsa near miss opportunities. You play the game. Near misses do not count. As JJ said in the post game interview, if Padron had hit every wide open man he would have had over 700 yards. Indeed, AR was wide open and in full stride in the last series and Padron over threw him.

They didn't have 'it'...'it' didn't happen...Guess what?...we didn't have 'it' for years either...when you are of the caliper..the catches will happen and the TD's will come and the complaining will not be relevant. I believe we USED to complain about missed opportunities as well when we were losers....its part of the game...Tulsa didnt have the mental strength to actually complete the plays.
It's your subconscious that makes it all happen, and thats what JJ has brought to these kids and they are all from winning HS Football programs too....its the culture.

mrydel wrote:Well it is also compounded by the fact that Moore is good enough that they do not want to throw to his side so Crawford gets more looks his way. We do not have a choice. From what I have seen, Crawford is the 2nd best corner on our team at this point and time.

Sterling is a big part of why Crawford gets so many balls thrown his way. If they throw at all in Sterling's direction its always the short, underneath stuff. Crawford is the one who sees all the long balls coming his way.

oh i definitely agree with you there. It's how it goes, when you have a sterling on one side, the other corner ends up getting the majority thrown his way until he shows something. It happened to me in juco. The other corner was pre-season all american and i ended up getting a majority of the balls the first two games. After i shut that noise up and became the tough corner it was our safties they went after

San Antonio Mustang wrote:I am not playing the what if game, but the fact is Crawford is definitely the weakest link in our secondary. He is beat more often than anyone else and even when he has coverage they complete more passes on him than anyone else. Remember all those fade routes for touchdowns thrown over him in the early games. I agree he has improved, but he has a long way to go. We can only hope that his work and coaching can help him learn to carry his weight.

pray that we do not need #31 Bennie Thomas at CB and that Crawford is healthy. Thomas was frequently not even close to anyone when he was forced to start at CB during the WSU game.

i'll disagree with you on there. Bennie Thomas is always in GREAT POSITION, he's just a bout a foot shorter than the receivers....nothing he can do about that except get aggressive at the attack point. Don't believe, re-watch the marshall game last year.
