Great signing, if we can only get Cannen Cunningham or if Jalen can convince Jarion Henry we would be set!

Jalen Jones is a man in a sea of haters. Cunningham is in the batter's box. Mangino on Xs & Os, and Doh on the road, is showing early dividends.

Look at the kids that come eligible in '11, before we add two more (Vilde, Cotton, Alexander, Norman, Jones, Manuel). That's a massive talent infusion.

PonyDoh,
I have no idea what you mean in your first 2 sentences in your post.

Just means that Jones had the sack to step up as a local, when he had tremendous pressure to choose another school. He & his family made their own choice and shut the barbershop down.

Much of the rumor-mongering about a SMU verbal last night centered on Cannen Cunningham, not Jones. I'd say things look pretty good in that recruitment right now. Cunningham may be up next

nice, nice pickup. between Giles and this, we might have a small Kimball pipeline started again. Really a sight for sore eyes around here. I might have to eat some crow, and man i would be glad to feast on all the local crow Doh wants to serve.

Thanks for the translation.

I'm assuming Goree Johnson is no longer in the picture in the DISD? He was the one that kept spreading venom toward SMU and really turned it up after the Jimmy Tubbs dismissal.

Love us getting back into Texas and in Dallas. It just makes a huge difference to the credibility of the program to do it.

BTW, I looked at Jones' offer list. I'm certain in some cases some of those schools let the trail go cold. We've seen that kind of thing before.

That wasn't street talk I don't think. Just hip sport lingo. Thanks for the info PonyDoh.

I second that. I've been as down on Doh as anyone, but all I care about is results. If we can show improvement this year and hold on until the talent shows up next, I'm on board.

It was the general lack of direction in the program that made me give up on Doh. Now there seems to be a blueprint and I'd love to see it result in W's on the floor (crappy schedule withstanding, I can tell an improved team from a cupcake schedule).

I feel pretty good about the '11 roster, but I'm excited to see what else we can add w/2 more ships. Let's hope Cannen Cunningham fills one, the other goes to best available. Quality big or PG, whichever we find first. If Jfrog pans out in practice, maybe just go big

Quite excited about this, even given my relative naivete about college hoops. To be honest, at least on the surface, the majority of our sports are looking pretty good for various reasons these days.

both teams are benefitting from a much larger recruiting pool-and have for at least 3 years.

I didn't think anyone was arguing that. I thought most of us that use half a brain know that SMU decided it wanted to actually compete realistically with other schools three years ago.

Great post, I Gave up on Matt a very long time ago, but this recruiting momentum gives me pause...maybe we just suck it up and ride him a few more years to the promised land.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!
