Mexmustang wrote:CA Mustang, I appologize. Your frustration with USC's sanctions is as great as mine over SMU's. I didn't realize you were a fan and supporter, I only thought you were disagreeing with my right to have an opinion, whether based on fact, simple logic or stories related to me by major supporters of other Pac Ten schools. There is no way I can win this debate any more than someone trying to tell me that in the eighties, the rest of the SWC and OU weren't playing the same recruiting game. Sorry to have opened this can of whip-[deleted].

Mex, I have no problem with people having opinions. Discussing issues is what this board is about.

In situations such as what happened at USC, some folks like to present hearsay and rumors as fact. The NCAA's report is publicly available, so anyone can read it and discuss what WAS found. I put very little weight on exaggerations or third hand rumors from competing schools.

I wasn't at SMU in the mid-80's and I'm sure the situation was even more devastating. Granted the media climate and technology were quite different, but we've seen the resulting damage.

That's a question for the IRS. Though how does the IRS tax trips and free home rental? Unless I missed something, the title to the house was never in the Bush family's name.

I dare anyone to read that article and then rationally come to the conclusion that say Whats Amatter U. should be subject to Severe NCAA penalties such as the Death Penalty for the sleazy activities of street agents with no affiliation with a university.

Can somebody tell Stallion....he seems in a panic to make it clear...that these violations are not nearly as bad as what SMU did...As if nothing can be criticized because SMU was once like a quarter century ago maybe the worst...Please somebody let Stallion know before he has a heart attack...that yes SMU is the worst, the most horrible forever and ever!...Feel better now Stallion????....I know the words "SMU was the worst"..."and everyone else was better and no admins anywhere were cheating never-ever...only @ SMU"....makes you all warm and fuzzy inside.

All together now...just to make Stallion's night...Booooo SMU...Yeaaaaa Everybody Else!

Always remember, if we didn't get the death penalty, stallion would not have been able to rattle on about the model and then say i told you so, though no one disagreed with him.

Every time one of you kiss-asses claimed Forest Gregg, Tom Rossley. Mike Cavan or Phil Bennett were just about to turn the corner when they had both hands tied aqround their back-you were disagreeing with the Stallion Model. And then the guy who does turn it around has an even more radical Model than I do. Look I pinpointed about 10 areas over a decade ago that had to changed before SMU could be competitive with its natural and traditional rivals. There were about 3 people on this board that knew JACK about any of those issues at the time and probably less that knew how to intelligently comment on those issues with facts and examples . Each and every point I raised a decade ago has been accomplished.
