Circa 1984...Berman doing Sportscenter on Christmas day, 1984. #4 SMU taking on Chaminade over on Oahu. 4:10 - 4:30 mark. Fun video.

Wow, I forgot how cheesy ESPN was back in 1984. Virtually no highlights and just scores. Its amazing anyone watched back then. But then again, having any sports on 24 hours a day was quite the novelty.

They are the Host school in that Tournament and have a basketball rich history. If you recall they beat then number 1 or 2# ranked Ralph Sampson led Virginia squad back in the 80's.

Chaminade proceeded to make the finals of the tournament where they lost to Providence by 2. That Silverswords team was GOOD.
