Is our 2010 average home attendance through four games.

I don't understand the obsession with attendance. Win and they will come. Add in real teams and they will come even more. The average DFW fan just isn't going to get fired up about seeing a nonranked SMU team play a Tulsa. But pit #23 SMU against a Tech or an OSU at Ford and you'll get a crowd.

That is shockingly low when you figure in the sell out. I would have guessed we were a couple thousand ahead of last year through four games.

Wasn't the first game last year supposedly a sellout as well?

This is not so bad when you consider just 3 years ago we were averaging 15K.
Step by step, inch by inch.
Just send 'da money.

And to think, one of the most poorly attended games I ever witnessed at Ford was Boise State when we were in the WAC. Gotta think that would sell out easy.

It would now since Boise is a real team now.

47 years of following this program has convinced me that the average DFW fan will never care about our program. The people we need are our own alumni, family and friends

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

They cared three weeks ago when we were playing a real team.
Edit: "Caring" means filling Ford Stadium.

Worst attendance has to be that Hawaii game in 2002 or 2003 where kickoff was like 10AM Dallas time. Ghost Town.

Didn't we play a weeknight game against Fresno State one year at the Cotton Bowl that had about 4,000 people in the stands?
