Re: Jeff ReineBold SUNDAY POST NAVYconference title!
Re: Jeff ReineBold SUNDAY POST NAVYNothing lost as far as bowls or rankings. Only the pride and satisfaction a team earns when beating quality opponents, especially on the road and the national perceptions towards the program. Good luck.
Re: Jeff ReineBold SUNDAY POST NAVY
Sure. Keep in mind how bad this thing was when Jones arrived and the job to turn things in a different direction. He claims we're one year ahead of schedule. I would suggest that the Bowl win did start to change the national perception. We already have people's attention. Enjoy the journey.
Re: Jeff ReineBold SUNDAY POST NAVYthis season's goal is still within reach; would love to see the guys sweep thru CUSA. Beat Houston!
Re: Jeff ReineBold SUNDAY POST NAVY
The contest with Houston will serve as a better indicator than did that with Navy as to just how greatly the loss of Sterling Moore will impact the rest of this season. Navy's offense was unique among our opponents, and as such is not a fair means by which to judge the duration of this season. Even when drawing upon all my optimism, I do not see SMU going undefeated against its remaining opponents. Perhaps this week will alter my outlook. Far East Conference

I would like us to win our remaining games but I just don't see us doing it. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: Jeff ReineBold SUNDAY POST NAVY
Agreed. East Carolina is worthy of concern, while Houston may have gained the advantage with SMU's loss of Sterling Moore. Far East Conference
Re: Jeff ReineBold SUNDAY POST NAVYAgain boys and girls....UTEP at El Paso is the dangerous playground for SMU....and East Carolina will be a beating and we will be lucky to win at their place also.
Re: Jeff ReineBold SUNDAY POST NAVYIt's time to put up or shut up. We have the talent to beat Houston, at home, for Homecoming. We lost 1 player out of 22. Yes, it hurts a great deal, but we ought to, and can, come out, hit them in the mouth and win this game. Houston just lost to Rice. I fully expect us to win this game. Injuries happen, you deal with it. We need one of about four different units to step up and pick up the slack. That is how you take the next step. Beat the living [deleted] out of Cougar High.
We could have, and should have won the game yesterday. Mr. Padron turned the ball over twice inside of our own 30 yard line, which led to 14 Navy points including the winning touchdown. Yes ifs and nuts aside, those two single plays had a huge influence on the outcome. Let's all collectively put on our big boy pants and win this flipping game. UTEP just lost to UAB, scoring 6 points and losing by 15. The same UAB that we handled easily 28-6. That was the first "difficult" game they've had to play this year, outside of Keenum led Houston, which drilled them. Yeah, the Sun Bowl is a tough place to play, but I expect us to walk in there, play a crisp, intelligent game and beat the crap out of them to. It is directly related to our season goal, and every player and coach knows that. No excuse to lose there.
