OUR FRIEND TRISTATECOOG

This was a his post from the SCOUT Houston site.

Campisi's is an institution. If you want to eat there, go by 11:30 in order to get seating. It will be packed. It's located two blocks east of the stadium on Mockingbird, south side of the street. You can walk there from the stadium...allow 15 minutes each way. http://campisis.us/locdetail.php?id=8

Where to park? I always park in the neighborhood for free. Park south of Mockingbird (Ford Stadium) but be prepared to walk about 5-8 blocks. It's Highland Park and safe to leave your car.

There is a bar called Trinity Hall which is across the highway in Mockingbird Station (Mockingbird and Central (Hwy 75)). That's where UHAA had its last party and it has a lot of different beers and big screen TVs.

The Boulevard (on Bishop Drive) will be packed with tents for tailgating SMU alums. It's SMU's version of Ole Miss's Grove. It's quite a scene. Maybe 10,000 tailgate there. It's Homecoming weekend.

I live nearby and my wife works at SMU. Any other questions? Please come up and support the Coogs. As you saw, SMU lost at Navy. We have a solid shot but it will be a spirited and tough game. If anyone plans to eat the tickets, please instead consider mailing them up to an alum up here and we'll get them to attending fans. Go Coogs!!!

I'm a Pony fan second and Coog fan first. FWIW, I started CoogFans.com in 1999 and handed it off to two awesome Houston based guys in 2002. Thus my tagline.

The more fans that come up for the game, the more $$ that SMU gets.

In true Cougar fashion, if I can help it, I never pay for parking.

I think our crowd will be a bit lighter than 2008. The fanbase is pretty dejected after the last two games and the loss of our top two QBs at UCLA. However, hopefully a lot of fans already bought tickets for this game and will still make the trip.

If you were spending one night and one day in Dallas, where would you recommend that people eat, especially close to campus?

Just found this:
http://collegeprowler.com/southern-meth ... us-dining/

SMU rates an "A" for off-campus dining. TCU gets a B+ which sounds generous.

I hope UH brings a good crowd. The TCU game was electric and having solid fan bases for both teams in the stadium was part of that excitement.

This is a conference game and UH is still potentially in the hunt.

I hate that Keenum is out. Always more fun to beat an opponent that is at their best.

Yes, that extra 2 miles from Ozonas to 1st & 10 is so rough

I was thinking if people were walking near SMU. My apologies for not clarifying that. BUT, there are a lot of lights to contend with going down Mockingbird...

Louie's on Henderson next to Barcadia is the best pizza that I ate in Dallas. S...M...U... loves it as well.
