Good lord its mid October and people are already losing it after the FIRST BCS ranking.
All the top teams are deserving in some right and have a solid case.
Well see how it all plays out in due time.

Re: Surprise-OU No. 1 in BCS
They're all human polls, if you get right down to it. Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.
Re: Surprise-OU No. 1 in BCSListened to ESPN Radio this morning. Both Todd McShay and Mel Kiper were on. Todd McShay already started making excuses about why Boise will win its BCS Bowl Game - because their opponent won't care. Because the opponent doesn't care about playing Boise, Boise's victory in that game doesn't mean anything. He stopped himself just short of saying that Boise shouldn't even get a BCS Bowl (any BCS Bowl) game invitation.
What was interesting was Mel Kiper. Kiper said flat out that Boise should play for the National Championship. If BSU runs the table they should get the chance, unless Oregon or OU run the table (inference being that the SEC team should be the automatic invitee to the title game). Kiper wants to see BSU play 'Bama for the title. The best part of the whole thing was TCU was never mentioned. Utah was mentioned as the "other non AQ" team. Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall
Re: Surprise-OU No. 1 in BCS
I heard this as well. The best part was that both said that the system was FUBAR'd. It's just a ploy by ESPN to fan the flames of both sides of the BCS debate. The Auburn-Alabama game will decide whether or not Alabama even wins the SEC. Boise is going undefeated and they will play someone who will definitely care about winning the NC. It would be great if they beat an SEC team.
Re: Surprise-OU No. 1 in BCS
Ehh...disagree. Let's say that hopefully, one day we've put in enough sweat, years, and money in to the program to get to that level. Unless the system changes, or we're in a BCS conference everybody is going to be sitting around here complaining to absolutely no end about how a Top-5 team that just nearly posted three shut outs in a row is getting absolutely 0 love. This is potentially bad. TCU is like our better looking, older, sister. We can fix ourselves up and eventually become better looking and better, but we don't want to see her get slapped around and disrespected when she is EXACTLY what we want to be. A private, small, religiously affiliated Texas school with great football history that has rebuilt an outstanding, top-10 perennial power. Also, Utah is only half the "other" Non-AQ. Yeah, they're MWC now, but they are immediately moving to the Pac-10. I bet they see the love they get from media outlets jump quite a bit because they're about to be moved from the big pond to the little pond. What's bad for TCU, isn't good for us. It's bad for us. I wish we were having TCU pub crammed down our throats so much we're all ready to climb a clock tower. Why? Because we could be looking at our very own future, and that should [deleted] people off.
Re: Surprise-OU No. 1 in BCSScrew TCU....
We are way hotter than them... TCU is like our slutty sister, she is en'vouge right now b/c she has 1 good attribute, soon she will have a case of the herp and no one will like her anymore...
Re: Surprise-OU No. 1 in BCSThey've also got to be the least covered, most ignored Top 5 team in many, many years. I'd hate to be sitting up where they are in 3-5 years listening to all the justified [deleted] and moaning around these parts because we're getting jacked around by tools paid by ESPN.
Re: Surprise-OU No. 1 in BCSSports Illustrated's Midseason Crystal Ball:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/football/ncaa/10/21/midseason-crystal-ball/index.html This is a good read. The consensus is basically that Boise plays in the title game, and Alabama, OU, and Oregon fight it out for the other spot.
Re: Surprise-OU No. 1 in BCSOU will win out in the rest of the season before the BIG 12 Championship game unless something bizarre happens. Although 3/4 games will be on the road.
in this order they have @ A&M Home vs. Tech @ Baylor @ OSU unless Nebraska rallies I see OU being the only undefeated BCS conference team. History is not an absolute indicator of the present but it says that Oregon will find a way to lose at least one game, and that Auburn looks great, but has yet to make it though the hardest part of their schedule. They could be one of the SEC teams to go to the conf. championship game with one loss that they will likely get against Alabama. I am relishing the potential of a rematch of the '07 Fiesta Bowl and a 2nd crushing loss handed to those crimson and cream [deleted]'s "There ain't nothing you can't solve with one more beer"
