Jermaine Sams of St. Paul's in Covington is making the most of his touches this year, and really looks like a top-notch recruit for the Ponies. St. Paul's wrecked my son's Mandeville H.S. squad 28-0 and from all appearances, they are well on their way to a top-4 finish in 5-A.

I wonder whether we've expressed any interest in DT Jonathan Kinchen, “6-3”, 280-pounds from Ponchatoula, Louisiana, who plays in the same district as Sams. He wreaked havoc against Mandeville's O-Line, which is a pretty good one. Definitely a man among boys. He holds an offer from UL-Lafayette, but I believe he will be getting better offers. Sams' and Kinchen's teams will be playing tonight to decide the district championship and lock up a playoff spot. Does anyone know whether we're looking at this kid?
