Houston Fan here We're coming up for the game Saturday, and wanted to know the best parking options for visitors. Also, where can we get in on the tailgate scene? The Blvd sounds amazing Thought about bringing out a selection of craft brews (St.Arnold's in bottles), but it appears from reading the tailgate policies....that's a no no. I remember the the glory days of the Pony Express with Dickerson, James and McIlhenny. It seems that JJ has just about got the R & S cranked up to full speed, when he does, you guys will be really tough. Any info about parking or the tailgating at the grove would be much appreciated BTW, with the loss of our best QB and our defensive woes, it's possible you guys hang 60+ on us

Best bet is to park across 75 at Mockingbird Station (the DART rail public transit lot), its free and there are shuttle buses that will bring you over and take you back afterward. Also, its not a long walk if you want to hoof it.
You can bring your brews, just have plastic cups to pour it in. The Boulevard is a great place and if you are social, you can probably shmooze your way into someone's space and hang a bit, there are also fringe areas to just hang out or walk around.
A good deal is to buy a 6 dollar styrofoam cooler, keep your beer in there, and then pour in your cups as needed. As long as you are of age, you won't get hassled. Then when you are ready to go to the game, just toss it in the nearest garbage can.
Hope you enjoy the pregame experience, but not the game itself!
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

Grocery store at Greenville and Lovers or grocery store on Mockingbird just beyond the DART parking area. There will be plenty of space for you to setup an impromptu tailgate. More than likely you will want to walk around to check out the sites. That way you can say you had fun even though your Cougs got their ases beaten.

Phi Slamma, You definitely need to come to the Vard. I think as long as you pour your glass bottles into a cup, you'll be okay. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Uh, 7-11. Hello. I thought you people knew where every 7-11 was in the state. If you want to bring a real cooler you could probably park it somewhere outside the stadium. Can't vouch for whether your beer will still be in it though. There is also a concert at Dallas Hall before the game. Go check that our and all the "sights" in the quad. Have fun!

I would imagine you can find one in the Houston area if you start looking early enough.

LOL. Any visiting fan has to take time to walk the 'Vard. Bishop Ave b/w HP Methodist and practice field up to Dallas Hall. It's a memorable scene.

I'd have to say St. Arnold's is 1a to Franconia (Brewed in DFW) as my favorite Texas brewed beers. Good stuff for sure. Grab some Franconia Dunkel or Hef to compliment your St. Arnold's and it'll be a good afternoon. As others said, bottles are cool as long as you avoid the fuzz or put it in a cup.

You can park in the lot next to the 7-Eleven - Short walk to Boulevard. The free parking at Dart station fills up if you are not there early. Bring a plastic cup, get there by 10 am for the full experience.

BUS you should be assamed of yourself. Telling a googer high fan to park in the 7-11 parking lot? They might think they are going to work.
Just send 'da money.
