For Wreck'Em, or anyone else familiar with the Red Raiders:

We all know Tech has a potent offense - those who thought they'd collapse without Kliff Kingsbury were proven wrong when Symons threw for 153 million yards last year. My question is this: what's the Tech defense going to look like this year? Who did they lose? Are they big on the line? How's the secondary?

We're getting pretty excited about Foy Munlin and the addition of a passing game this year, but the success of any offense always depends on matchups. Our offensive line is bigger and stronger this year, but also young and learning new blocking schemes, so I would suggest that the biggest key to the outcome against the Red Raiders will be our offensive line against their defensive line.

Anyone have some insight about the TTU defense?

According to BornRed&Blue's daughter (RedRaiderSweetheart), who is hoping to transfer to SMU in the fall, the TT "D" didn't really lose anyone of significance...although they weren't the greatest "D" in the Big 12 last year they'll still be a force to reckon with this Fall. Her advice: be prepared for a helluva game in September!

The Good News: We didn't lose very many people on our defense.

The Bad News: Our defense was dead last in almost every statistical category.

I anticipate a better defense this year than last simply because of older, more experienced players. That said, the first game of the season will be far from their best game of the year. The secondary should be the strongest unit, but that's also typically the unit that needs the most time to gel.

The Red Carpet (as the D is affectionately known by the student body) should be just what the doctor ordered for SMU.

Thank God for the Air Raid.
