I think Kyle Padron will start for two more years and be drafted into the NFL. Then you'll have junior Stephen Kaiser and sophomore Connor Preston duke it out.

You wait. The kid did not get significant playing time in high school due to backing up Riley Dodge and then an injury his senior year, lit it up last year, and hit a bit of a sophomore slump early this year. He has the physical tools and will only continue to get better.

I think they will and should start him for the next 2 years b/c no matter what it's the best thing they have going. They should start looking at a big time recruit at the QB spot.

The NFL? That is a huge statement. He might get a look but he will not make a roster.

yeah Rolovich picked it right about the time he graduated. (I know he didn't have much experience). But geez after all the pathetic QBs we've seen around here I think we are sitting pretty with a Sophomore like Padron. He never really was the QB last year that some of you imagined he was. He does hold onto the ball too long. But,the kid hasn't even finished growing into his body. Right now he doesn't throw an NFL ball but he will continue to mature physically. He has a lot of natural gifts and generally does not turn over the ball-all we have to do now is enjoy his Junior and Senior year. Junior and Senior experienced QBs win Championships, Replacing Padron now would be a worse decision than handing Bo Levi the job and it ain't going to happen.

Not trying to prove the comparison between McCoy and Padron, because I honestly feel like McCoy was a massively talented college QB, but don't ignore the fact that McCoy had an advantage with a better talent pool around him, so that is a big part of why he was able to set all those records. Put McCoy at SMU those same years, and he'd be sitting at home on Sundays watching the NFL like the rest of us because his numbers would not have been that impressive.

I hope Kyle is successful too. I hope and want him to make the necessary adjustments to be very successful. One problem for me is Kyle see's the difficulties as "we need to do better", I think he should take more ownership and maybe focus on the shortcomings of his that have been pointed out. What I am afraid of is Kyle perfecting bad habits like my slice that I can fill a bucket at 150 yards. Regardless, I think June made a Genius move at half time Tulane. We will see today if there is a lesson learned.

Colt didn't play as a true freshman like Padron. Padron was a good QB as a REDSHIRT freshman and Sophomore. Nobody in their right mind thought Colt McCoy was an NFL QB or a Heisman Trophy candidate after his 3rd Sophomore year. Note he had a Sophomore slump with declining stats and none of those awards in that long list came from his Sophomore year. That's the point-he became a GREAT QB as a Junior and Senior. Sit back and relax and watch Padron improve as a Junior and Senior.
