Houston Jones
Ht: 6-2 Wt: 180 40: 4.51
Position: QB
Projected as: QB, S
Oklahoma City (Northeast), Okla.

Biography:
Threw for nearly 800 yards and rushed for nearly 500 yards in the three games he played in this past fall. Also a stand-out basketball player.

Coach's Comments: "I only had him for three games last fall because he had surgery on his broken thumb," said head coach Ron Kroeger. "He threw for over 400 yards in his first game back. He is 100% percent now as we've had him out throwing, and he looks good."

Scouting Report: Not a burner, but very quick and elusive. Real good in the open field. Has good arm strength, but will force the deep pass at times. Has good, quick release, but needs to improve decision making.

Schools of Interest:
Iowa State, Kansas, Missouri (camp), SMU, TCU (camp), Tulsa (camp). No offers yet - reports medium interest in each.

Sounds like he's one hell of an athlete, if not a polished QB. But 400-plus passing yards in his first game back means he has to have some ability, right? The fact that he's camping at Mizzou is most telling, to me at least. With Brad Smith up there, they know a little something about athletic quarterbacks. Maybe this guy's worth a more extensive look.

(A) That's good size and speed
(B) 800 passing yards in three games is pretty damn good
(C) Throwing for 400 in his first game back from an injury is really good

Why aren't more schools after this guy?
