Congratulations to Coach Schumann and his staff for the defense's performance today. The D was incredible, especially in the second half, and has carried us all year.
Question - has there been any talk of interviewing Schumann for the head coaching job? Even when we've struggled, the defense has been great. If nothing else, he deserves a courtesy interview as a tribute for the job he's done here. He's a terrific coach, and deserves a shot, if he's interested. Sure hope he stays at SMU, either as head coach or at least as defensive coordinator.
Anyone know if he's even going to get an interview?

Re: Coach Schumann
Schumann is always prepared for the option, except last year, I don't know what happened at Rice last year.
As for an interview, if so just as a courtesy. I think he is a great coordinator, but I don't think he would be the greatest head coach. It doesn't seem like he would be so great at recruiting and pep talks and PR.

OK, we have the best defense in the WAC this year - again. Think how good this group would be with J.D. Blagg, Markus Pratt, a healthy D.D. Johnson, D.D. Lee with two good knees, Vic Viloria without the ankle (or whatever it was) that bothered for so much of the early part of the season.
