BIG MEN at SMU

Postby BUS » Thu Nov 11, 2010 1:30 pm

Grettings to any BIG MEN looking at this site. Think about SMU and how great the city and the university are.
JJ has a high powered offense and lot's of quality QB's and WR's want to play for him.

The only thing SMU needs is 6 to 8 (more) BIG MEN to start and provide depth on the lines.

Do you want a quality education? Do you want the excitement of a big city lifestyle? Do you want to win Bowl games and get rings?

And finally, SMU stands for
Super
Model
University.

You may want to talk to your therapist/priest about those thoughts.

We need linemen.

Well Taylor Reich, all 6'7" showed up last month and left WITHOUT a scholarship offer. Doesn't look like June is as interested in lineman as he is wide-outs!

Not sure I understand your basis for the comment. Of our 19 commits, 11 are either OL or DT/DE. Conversely, only 3 are WR's.

Seems like big men are the main focuc so far.

despite the overemphasis on WRs and DBs in the last 3 classes, SMU's biggest needs are still WRs and DBs. Secondary needs for depth are LBs and NGs. SMU desperately needs playmakers who are deep threats for next year. I don't think we have a WR who can stretch the field in 2011 and that's big trouble.

i feel like DB absolutely has to be our biggest problem area - is it not?

I think it is a close second to a play making WR. My biggest concern is WR and I thought by now we would have a difference maker recruited and in the system. After this season, we have a bunch of possession WR's and that means no one to keep the defense honest. Man, Farmer could be an all-american as a frosh here, wish Preston had some pull over him.

Don't get me wrong, our secondary is in trouble, but with this offense we can outscore liabilities on defenses. The problem is we will be missing a big weapon in the offensive arsenal next season. Does Jeremy Johnson have the ability to stretch the field? I just don't have a familiarity with the true frosh receivers. I know it's a stretch, but what are Larry Centers Jr.'s wheels like?

After reviewing the 22 offers that we have out, What we really need is two JUCO NG's.
You know the 310 and cat quick type with stellar academics and an interest in theology.

We have a few young ones coming but they need a few years to swell up and be ready.
