Recruiting…Fall Recruiting Top 30 Fall Classes…
By Van Coleman [email protected]

Kentucky edges St. John’s, Duke, Arkansas and Louisville for top spot in fall recruiting...

Kentucky picked up our top two prospects in the class of 2010 in Anthony Davis and Michael Gilchrist along with fellow top twenty-five talents Marques Teague and Kyle Wiltjer to lead our fall recruiting rankings. They were followed closely by a deep St. John's class, in Steve Lavin's first year, led by D'Angelo Harrison, Maurice Harkless and Thursday commit Norvel Pelle. Nipping on their heels was the Duke Blue Devils led by Austin Rivers and Quinn Cook. Rounding out the top five were Arkansas with a solid in-state group along with explosive B.J. Young, followed by Louisville who signed a deep group headed by Wayne Blackshear and Chane Behanan. The second five featured Rutgers, in Mike Rice's first class, followed by Ohio State, Illinois, Arizona and Texas who just edged North Carolina for an early top ten spot in our initial rankings. But, the Tarheels are still looking to sign one more, so stay tuned!

Editor's Note: There are a number of schools who have commitments from just one player, who may rank among our top one hundred nationally. But, we felt that a school had to have more than one recruit to make our first cut ranking lists. Plus we will be adding a Near Misses / Potential Breakthroughs / Best of Rest Sections to our rankings over the next week as more signings come in.

nothing like hoopmasters & hoopscoop, where you get upgraded by the size of your class. Guess the two 'services' that ranked Dohs big classes? you guessed it.

So, are you saying that this Top 30 list is not accurate?

I suspect the point is to take the rankings of large classes with a grain of salt.

it's subjective, but not bad. Its just worth noting that hoopmasters and hoopscoop scale according to the number of kids in a class. It's why the Dia/Harp/Nyakundi/Malone/TK/Rhodes/Walker class was ranked, not b/c there was much impact there.
