Overthinking issues causes confusion. After we play the schedule and play really really really hard-CUSA will tell us when and if to show up for championship/bowl game

I would just prefer we don't fall behind 7-0 for the fourth freaking game in a row.

I would also prefer that if we take the ball and drive to the opponent's 40 and face a 4th and 1, the "all-knowing wizard" Jones actually throws caution into the wind and goes for it.

The experience of playing in a championship game with a chance to go into a bowl with a winning record means more to me (than going to a bowl at 6 and 6) and is a wonderful learning experience. The championship game buys you another week of practice. After you discount exam week and the distractions of a bowl, you gon't gain that much more practice time.

It's like the Bush Library. Other schools probably deserved it more than we did - they had more land to donate and could really make it a sprawling, feature-filled landmark compared to our boxed-in version.

And there are better presidents than W that you would want to have memorialized on your campus.

But presidential libraries, like division titles, don't come around that often. Grab'em while you can. You never know what might happen.

I'm not disagreeing with everything you're saying; your facts may be fundamentally sound.

But the Ponies that showed up last year agains Nevada and this year against TCU and TTech can beat ECU and UCF.

Also consider the VAST improvement the extra practices made for Padron and the boys between the last regular season game and the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.

Extra practices for a conference championship, then additional extra practices for a bowl (not to mention the confidence boost) should make a huge difference for what (still) is a young team.

Conceding defeat to Tulsa -- a team we BEAT fair and square no matter what excuses you want to make -- is ludicrous.

I think the OP assumes that we would go the C-USA title game at 6-6 (beating Marshall, losing to ECU), lose the title game (most likely to UCF) then finish 6-7 and not go to a bowl (losing out on a month of extra practice time) hence why he wants to concede the division to Tulsa. Unless Sterling comes back and June fixes our passing game it's hard to see us getting more than a split over the next 2 games.

This is a moot point if we win our last 2 games. If we go on the road and beat ECU, my faith will be restored in this team and all this coward talk will be forgotten.

I have the up most faith that June really worked with the passing game to fix it. Hopefully, I don't bite my tongue Saturday.

Apparently you cant knock the loser mentality out of our fan base in just one season. Play what comes your way as hard as you can - try to win everything and let the chips fall. Its a stupid converstion that just makes you look like a loser when you try to explain it. I feel dumber having just read it.

The team only knows one thing - they will play to win against every team that anyone puts in front of them.

Go Mustangs. Beat everyone.

Yes, Tulsa has the better record. However, you have to win the must win games which we have done at this time. It is what it is and conference records speak for themselves.

We play games to decide a winner. I never thought I would read on this board that soeone would ever think we should ever want to loose. I do not suppose it ever occured to anyone that recruits are looking for opportunities to play. Sometimes a defeat instills the idea that "all they need is me on the field" and we would have won that game. It might actually makes the situation at SMU more attractive. Nobody wants to go to a school where they will never touch the field or spend years getting beat up on scout team.

Win the next two games.
Simple.
I hope no player or coach has a "Tulsa Should Win the West" attitude.
Just pathetic.
