Either you are the reanimated zombie of Pye and don't want us to improve, are a complete moron, or are just trolling by playing stupid. I'm thinking #3 is most likely. Are you ontheedgeofmyseat?

I'll lighten up a bit. Sorry.
Ill absolutely give you it doesn't hurt us right this second in recruiting. No problem there. But it's because that "upward trajectory" you spoke about WILL have to go through TCU's recruiting path. But if you see us moving to the top of our conference and past it (even if that means we are still in it), as I think we all do, we will have to compete with the Frogs for recruits. And the whole point of recruiting is to get ready for the future. That's what you're sellilng recruits.
But still, it's more than just recruiting.

Fair enough, leo. You make some good points. The rest of this conversation deserves a beer or two.

Lots of good thinking here and a heck of a lot to think about. One question? How does anyone think we don't recruit the same players as TCU? That is fiction. We obviously go after some of the same players as TCU, TU, A&M, Baylor, etc. If they are in a BCS conference, whoever they are and we are not they are going to edge us out more often than not.

Based on Rivals, in the last 5 years-there are 17 recruits offered by both schools that have signed with one or the other. TCU has gotten 15 of 17.

Well at least we made half our steals really count...DBell was an ESPN Top 150 recruit. USM and SMU were the only ones to land an ESPN Top 150 that year I think. Came in around 139, 136 I think.

A recap for those who have been asleep: Upon Moving to WAC: Who wouldn't want to be in a conference with BYU and Utah? Upon Moving to CUSA: Who wouldn't want to be in a conference with Louisville and Cincinnati? Upon Moving to MWC: Who wouldn't want to be in a conference with BYU, and Utah? This week: Who wouldn't want to be in a conference with Louisville and Cincinnati? They will end up getting what they deserve in the end. "Thank you sir - May I have another"

you forgot two straight undefeated and untied regular seasons (presently 23-0) based upon those moves

I would contend that their current conference in which they have run the table is the worst competition of the 4 conferences that they have played in over the last few years:
1. SWC 2. WAC 3. CUSA 4. MWC

Well, let's see. They have an indoor practice facility, we don't. They are undefeated, we aren't. They are in the Top 25/Top 15/Top 10/Top 5, we aren't. They are in the national title discussion, we aren't. They have been linked numerous times to BCS inclusion, we aren't. They regularly draw 40k plus for home games, we don't. Nike selected them to do one of those special BS uniforms, we weren't (Yes, I know we're Adidas). Currently, they're in the fifth ranked conference, ahead of the Big East and ACC, we aren't. They have won 23 games in a row, we haven't. When exactly are they supposed to get what they deserve? The move to the Big East and it crumbles, then they'll just be a very attractive option to another conference, or a "super conference" Kind of ironic because it's actually us who are getting what we deserve. We misbehaved, hired a bunch of dangerous zealots, marginalized and castrated our revenue sports, and this is where we sit now.

They lost to Boise last year...screw the streak...
[deleted] TCU...in my business we try not to worry about the other guy...we take care of what we can control the rest will work itself out...win the battles on your schedule and eventually we will pass them because we are better than they are...
