Rivals says SMU is the first to offer this guy. Don't know what the article says, since I don't subscribe, but that's in their headline.
Chris Mitchell
Inside linebacker
Spring (Westfield), Texas
Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 215 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.6 seconds
Audibles: "Chris is really going to get some attention in the fall because he is such a play maker. He has started at a sophomore, has a 3.8 grade-point-average and a leader for our team. When people see him in person, they are impressed." -Westfield coach Corby Meekans
Schools of interest:
Arkansas, Iowa State, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, SMU (offer), TCU

Mitchell states in the article that if the Aggies were to offer, he would accept. He is high on Arkansas and SMU. He likes the potential challenge of turning the program around and he has family in Dallas that could see him play.

I asked a friend who lives down there (his son goes to Westfield, although he doesn't play), and he quoted his son as saying this guy is probably the best player on his team. Apparently he has a reputation as a really big hitter, the kind who makes opponents avoid his part of the field. My friend's son also echoed what the coach says there about him - good student, good kid, and nasty on the field.

Go SMU!

Let's hope Fran and Grady take a pass on the kid. I like having a head hunter on field almost as much as having Big Uglies.

This guy looks great....
But where are the BIG MEN???
If someone has statistics on when big men commit, please share.
I see the Texas and A$M teams get the big boys first in their class.

I dunno but 215 needs to turn into 235 to cause some excitement.

Rumor has it a good percentage of the guys offered so far are big uglies. BUS's message must be reaching the offices in Ford Stadium.

Careful now...BUS likes the term BIG, but sometimes is a little sensitive about the term UGLIES.

I'm with you, BUS - big and fast are important, but big, fast and ugly are even better!

Supposedly he's eager to learn more about Arkansas. Whether that means he wants to go there, I don't know. But they've gotten his attention. I also have no idea if that means they're ahead of us (behind Aggies still?), or if we're still equal in his mind.
