So, if we win today, and Tulsa and Houston both lose, we will be CUSA-West Champions by the end of the day. As long as we win out, I'm kind of hoping they both win today so it leaves the team with a sense of urgency going into ECU. I don't want to limp into the CUSA Championship game with a 6-6 record.
Heading out to the 'Vard, go Ponies!

at the risk of jinxing the Ponies, I'm tailgating with a little Carolina Blonde (I'm trying not to be superstitious about what beer I drink in pregame; will use the red koozie today, since I don't have any white SMU koozies)

If we do make it to the champ game at 6-6- and lose, are we still bowl eligible?

It is possible to go 6-7 and make a bowl game if you lose your conference championship game, yes. But not desirable.

Troy could be SunBelt champs and have a losing record...I think under those circumstances they get a waiver and can host the bowl game in New Orleans
not sure about a 6-7 team losing a conference championship game, but think it requires a waiver

The Googles say that Miami (OH) did it in 2007. Of course finishing 6-7 means we lose 2 out of the next 3 which isn't going to happen.

The Blonde has nothing to do with the outcome of the game.
