Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?With the MWC likely going to 12, this opens the door for SMU to join. Yeah, all the media points to Houston, but SMU has better academics, more revenue, is more of a natural rival for TCU, and therefore I think makes more long-term sense.
On the other hand,if TCU leaves for the Big East, then an invite could come for Houston and Smu. Just curious what y'all thought about the notion.
Re: Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?no. we left the WAC years ago, why go back?
WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
Re: Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?probably depends on who else goes
If TCU bolts, I assume MWC looks like this: West: Hawaii, Fresno, SDSU, UNLV, Nevada, Boise Mountain: Wyoming, AFA, CSU, UNM and ?? UTEP, Utah St, Houston, SMU & Tulsa probably the best candidates for final 2 spots. probable bowl games: Boise, Hawaii, Las Vegas, New Mex
Re: Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?
The MWC these days is a bit different than the 16-team WAC of old. Boise and TCU have a chance to play for a championship this season, while 4 other current and future MWC teams have been ranked this season. Does C-USA get that kind of respect? Also, neither UTEP nor Utah State will get invites. The MWC's goal is AQ-status, and those teams do nothing to achieve that goal. Tulsa might, but at this point the only viable candidates are Houston and SMU.
Re: Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?If TCU stayed and the eastern side was TCU, Wyoming, AFA, CSU and UNM...I think SMU would be interested in joining
Bowl opportunities would be Hawaii, Las Vegas, Boise, New Mex and Ft worth with aspirations for champion to be AQ to BCS
Re: Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?We will go if TCU stays and AQ status is given to the MWC.
Get working on that behind the scenes, Undercover Frog.
Re: Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?I would suggest we should strongly consider the MWC if TCU leaves and Houston and SMU join. There are definite benefits from separating from Rice, Tulane, UTEP and even Tulsa.

Re: Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?I wish Tulsa could join the MWC with us and Houston.
Re: Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?I wish Tulane didn't suck balls, that is a fun trip.

Re: Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?
I would much rather bring UTEP than Tulsa. UTEP brings more fans and could possibly bring the Sun Bowl.
Re: Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?
UTEP has never brought the Sun Bowl in that bowl's entire history; why would they start now?
Re: Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?I'd much rather have Tulsa for academic reasons. Need both us and them to offset UH.
Re: Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?This doesn't have a thing to do with academics-see TCU which has excelled by distancing itself from the academics

Re: Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?The only thing UTEP would bring are their own officials- like the T-faggies and the bong-whorens.

Re: Would SMU be interested in a move to the MWC?
Fair point, but Tulsa has shown a solid commitment to athletics as well, and I'd rather have another road-trip competitor in our conference than UTEP.
