Re: 17,513white out failed except for the students. The only ones that get those memo's are the Mustang Club and the students.
Next time, it has to be either red or blue.
Re: 17,513
A VERY weak 'white out'.....maybe we get a sponsor to donate 12,00 white t-shirts?....anyone?
Re: 17,513The no re-entry policy at Ford needs to be STOPPED. This will help so much. We really need to get this changed. Too many are on the Blvd for the last half of the game (and they can't come back in and cheer us on). Plus the stadium looks fuller!
Re: 17,513I know this is blasphemy but they could shut the boulevard down 30 minutes or so after the start of the game. Several schools shut down tailgating when the game starts to get people to come inside the stadiums.
Re: 17,513While I wore a plain white shirt, it was my intention to buy a white SMU shirt at the bookstore, but realized when we got there that I might need a hoodie/jacket over my shirt. I bought a red hoodie since the white hoodies didn't have the Mustang logo on them---only SMU. My sister and I were the cheerleaders in section 209! I did find it annoying when the commercials on the jumbotron drowned out our band during timeouts, change of quarters, etc. But other than that, a great time!
Re: 17,513
Nice thought but I am afraid the ones that stay at the tailgate instead of going inside would just go home if the tailgate was closed. We need to continue to win to hopefully inspire them to go inside and see the game. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: 17,513We should never, ever call for a white out. Our school colors are red and blue. The bench seats in our stadium are red and blue. A majority of the shirts, sweatshirts, etc, that our fanbase buys are in what colors? Oh yeah, red and blue.
Personally, I don't like white shirts because invariably, I always drop something on them and 99% of the time they are ruined. The only white SMU shirt I have is the one the school sent out to everyone who donated tickets to the Hawaii Bowl last year, and I thought it might get a little too cool later in the game to wear just a t-shirt.
Re: 17,513Maybe we could employ some sort of obnoxious soundmaker to roust the Boulevarders out of their nest after the game begins-kind of like those shopping centers that are invaded by flocks of birds. Any good ideas for obnoxious sounds? Rick-Roll? Barry Manilow? William Shatner's greatest hits? No punishment is too great for these sliders especially the ones that bring their dogs like they are going for a walk in the park.

The Boat Horns and BUS with a loud speaker horn getting in people's faces to get in the stadium ![]() Sort of like Terry Tate - the office linebacker. He would be the boulevard mascot. There are way too many people that are Boulevard Only and then go home. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzToNo7A-94 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EHhwxRl ... re=related Last edited by Pony_Fan on Sun Nov 21, 2010 1:53 pm, edited 2 times in total.
Re: 17,513
Let them go home, they are spares that won't go into Ford anyway.
Re: 17,513SMU season attendance somehow managed to drop this year despite our first bowl game/victory in 25 years, despite challenging for Division leadership all year and despite 35,000 for TCU and despite a modest increase in Season Ticket sales.

Re: 17,513Great student support yesterday.
Re: 17,513
This is amazing considering there wasn't really a comparable game at home in 2009 to the TCU game to inflate numbers.
Re: 17,513
I agree this is surprising, but if Fall Break would not have fallen on the Tulsa game and we would not have had the freak weather for the Homecoming game, I think we would have seen an increase this season. I thought the attendance was solid yesterday and was actually surprised it was not more. I think we will start to see attendance at next year's regular games approach the 22,000 mark with spikes for special events.
