I think June thinks about his offense. He knew he wanted to run the ball in the 3rd Q leading 24-0 so he wasn't that concerned with the wind. Only if Marshall got back in the game would he really "need" the wind and that would be in the 4th Q.

That's for sure. However, we have had problems with all phases of special teams all year. We have gone from the best part of our game two years ago to the worst. And it is not just our worst, our special teams are some of the worst in football. I got to believe that on this squad you could get a group of players who could be coached to play much better than ours are. I also saw a great improvement in our offensive line play when Klemm took over from McKnight.

kick returns were much improved. Crawford had no issues whatsoever.

What happened to Acker after the 1st kickoff return. That was awesome.

maybe JJ wanted to give AR a chance to showcase because it was his last game at home?

That or Acker got injured...hope that wasnt the case

June always wants the ball to start the game. Doesn't matter the wind conditions, the opponent, etc. To hell with strategy - He wants to see his offense on the field as soon as possible.

And we can't expect our players to defend fakes and trick plays when we never run them ourselves.
