won't go unless they take all sports, and BE doesn't want to do that. Same thing that the Boston Globe guy wrote a few weeks ago. Zeise (Pittsburgh) and the other guy (can't think of his name, but the one who wrote the Globe article) are both very reliable sources when it comes to the BE (take their word over Mac Engel's every day of the week).

Tim: Anything new on the expansion front? Seeing a lot of rumors about TCU and UCF.

Paul Zeise: TCU is tricky because the Big East was hoping that perhaps they'd be able to get them as a football-only member and TCU made it clear they have no interest in that. It is either all-in or nothing. Central Florida, from what I have been told by a number of good sources close to this thing, is the one school who almost certainly will be a part of it. The wild card in it will be Villanova - if the Wildcats decide to bump up to Division I-A, oops, sorry FBS, then it solves some problems but that hasn't been decided yet.

Big East could get to 12 football members without adding to the bball group if Notre Dame would agree to join; it would prbably take an exception made by the Big East in allowing ND their TV rights, but Nova appears ready to move up to FBS level (they just beat the #1 ranked FCS team - Delaware), so I would expect Navv and UCF would get football only invites
