As long as the final score reflects 1 more point for SMU than the opposition, who cares? The other team has scholarship players too.

I mean Really?........WTF happened in the second half?....17-7 by Marshall over SMU in the second half.....Marshall looked like they adjusted and SMU didn't adjust. A tale of two halves and not a good trending on Offense and Defense to go onto the next game at ECU.
They had a chance to finish them off after the Banjo INT and didn't. Championship teams finish strong.....

Dude, you ought to add "anti" to your name. For someone to claim them-self as Ponyscott, you sure as hell are one of the the most negative ponies on here. Winning 24-0 at half, and winning the game 31-17 is a victory I'll take any week. This group has won 14 games in 2 years after back to back 1 win seasons. Give credit where credit is due. 2 bowls in 26 years and you expect 9-10 win seasons? Give JJ some time. Enjoy the improvement. Recruit a few other fans to come to the game so you don't have to use your extra ticket to re-enter at halftime while you booze down your troubles. Pony Up, not Pony whine, Scott.

I have to agree with Ponyscott, not only because he is a great SMU fan, but he is correct. Marshall came out in the second half ready to play and we didn't. Fortunately our defense did get some stops, but our passing offense fell apart. As has been said, we did not play a full game. I understood the second half of Navy. A team can get down and get beat especially by a team like Navy. But this team continued to be down. Houston beat us because we didn't play as well as we can. We struggled to beat Tulane because we did not play as well as we can. We lost to UTEP because we didn't play as well as we can. We had an off week and got back a key defender for the Marshall game and played a good first half only to let Marshall make it a game -- WHY -- because we didn't play as good as we can. This team can win the conference and the bowl game, but they will need to play 60 min as well as they can to do so.

My observation is that most of the other teams have made a lot of adjustments at halftime and we do not seem to. As a result, they gain the upper hand in the second part of the game. I think we need to start making adjustments and change up the expected. Too many of the things we are doing are very predictable. If we had the talent and experience it would less of a problem but we are still a very young team. Just an opinion.

Everyone loves the win. Just need to step up and grow. Time to stick it to them in the 2nd half and not let up. Navy game, Rice game, etc. Same trend. We'd just like to see the killer instinct in both halves. No reason Marshall should have been in any position to tie or win.
