Next year is exactly what the doctor ordered for building a foundation for a fanbase, at least by our standards. After two consecutive years of (perceived) improvement, and with a very large number of starters back, improving talent, and a weak home sched where we could conceivably go undefeated, it is conceivable that we come into the season top-25, especially if we somehow win our conference and the bowl game. And if not before the season, we could be, especially with an upset or two on the road. It would have helped to have Baylor coming next year, but oh well.

If we are able to couple that with a strike by the NFL, and are able to take advantage of a huge hole in the DFW sports media coverage and 100,000+ football fans not buying a ticket (hopefully we can get even 3 or 4 percent of that), then we will have many, many more eyes on us next season.

But we need a break or two, and it would help to start by getting one Saturday.
