Where'd ya find it? I've been to Borders and Barnes & Noble almost every day for the past week (including over the weekend) and it's not out on their stands. I called Heritage Communications (which publishes said periodical) and they said it would not be out until the second week in July. Again...where'd ya find it?

I saw several Froggies first mention that they are at several Walgreens and another at WalMart. I got mine at a Walgreens on Preston Road near Frankfurt.

PS Check your Dallas area Wal Marts as they seem to have gotten Dave Campbell's TEXAS FOOTBALL magazine first among all the other book and magazine stores. Good reading to ya' all !

I assume it's worth buying, if you're looking for high school coverage. Their college coverage usually consists of:
(A) Texas has a shot at the national title!
(B) This is the year that the Ags are back!
(C) UNT is great, because they beat up on Southwest Northeast Texas Tech State U., or whoever the hell is in their conference!
(D) Texas Tech WILL have a defense this year!
(E) Baylor really does belong in the Big 12!
And more such inaccuracies. Their SMU coverage always is minimal and often inaccurate.

SMU overage is adequate

Postby Sam I Am » Mon Jul 05, 2004 10:49 pm

SMU got as much print as the other major Texas schools. The story handles last year's 0-12 record carefully without impuning our chances for this year. I got my money's worth, but the price is getting higher every year.

I went to THREE Dallas area Wally Worlds tonite (between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.) and could not find a copy of this publication. Of course, there were plenty of Spanish-language copies of Glamour and Low Rider and numerous copies of Spider-Man 2 movie promos! Guess I'll try the WalGreen's at Preston Road and the Oklahoma State line tomorrow.

you people are unbelievable-SMU and all non-Big 12 teams are damn lucky that we still receive the coverage from that magazine that we do. For all you people talking about the coverage UT and A&M get-we ain't a flea on the hind end of those programs and yet some of you live in this illusion that we matter to the average college Football fan. When schools like SMU and Rice go to a bowl game instead of a combined 54 straight years of futility maybe you might have a point It is easily the best college football magazine covering Texas schools on the market.

Just got a copy this morning at the Walgreens on the corner of Frankford and Midway.. looks like there's 4 or 5 more there.
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

I disagree - it's always sucking up to the big boys. To suggest we're lucky to be in there is simply wrong. The magazine is presented as covering TEXAS football, not Texas Big 12 football. If they want to cover the Horns and Aggies, fine. Just don't pretend to cover everyone equally, because they don't.
