An obvious choice. The WAC has been reduced to a conference that the Sun Belt can laugh at.

It's last call and Karl Benson reached out to the only girl still alone...and she said no. How sad.

One can imagine the travel cost for the WAC would strain NTSU's athletic budget. It probably doesn't have a thing to do with the greatness of the Sun Belt but more the fans in the stands won't generate enough revenue to afford the WAC.

From a Texas perspective, I doubt NT would want to be associating itself with TxSt and UTSA.

That would look like a step backward.

I agree with ponyte: It has more to do with travel costs than anything else.

UNT is holding out for a move up to C-USA or the equivalent, a more regional situation.

Don't they know the evil, sinister, arrogant SMU will just blackball them again?

The Sun Belt will be a better conference when the WAC implodes. Why would they want to put themselves in an inferior conference?

maybe today; but once those programs move up and mature as FBS programs, the might be good conference mates...but also competing for some of the same recruits
