bowl projectionshttp://content.usatoday.com/communities ... tle-game/1
i am now seeing smu vs air force in bowl projections at ford. i think we are going to beat ecu and/or usm is going to beat tu giving us a shot at the cusa title. we would then go to either the hawaii or liberty bowl but probably the hawaii. i am loving some talk about 5-7 ut going to a bowl.
Re: bowl projections
The best thing about a 5-7 UT going bowling is if they end up 5-8.
Re: bowl projectionsWe go to the Armed Forces Bowl if eligible, as SEC seems to have some veto power over their opponent in the Liberty Bowl and I am guessing they'd shun us.
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

You forget we shunned the Liberty last year? ![]()
Re: bowl projections
Did we actually do that or did our HC just say he'd rather the team play in the Hawaii Bowl if given the option (not that it would have mattered)? They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: bowl projections
Acc. to Stewart Mandel of Si.com After getting some further clarification on the strange Liberty Bowl/SEC/Conference USA arrangement, I reshuffled my C-USA lineup. If UCF wins the conference title game but gets bumped from Memphis, it will have its choice of league-affiliated bowl games, and who would turn down a trip to Hawaii? This also allows Southern Miss to play closer to home in Birmingham. Note that if Tennessee beats Kentucky this weekend, giving the SEC a 10th bowl-eligible team, this will all be moot. Staying in Dallas is no reward for earning a bowl berth. It's like telling the team "we're going to Six Flags Over Texas" instead of "we're going to Diamond Head."

Your thinking is most likely right on and understandable from a players viewpoint, but there's a part of me that would love to play at home-----it would be very easy/convenient for me to be there!!!!!!
Re: bowl projections
Air Force is playing in the independence bowl WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
Re: bowl projections
Yes, but occasionally you need to cater to the people who pay the bills, especially ones you want to sit in the stands every week. To me, nearly any bowl would be better than the Hawaii bowl because I'd actually have a chance to go. The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney? Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.

we need to win the cusa title so we can go to the liberty against an sec team. Last edited by Nacho on Wed Nov 24, 2010 11:00 am, edited 1 time in total.
Re: bowl projections
If we do indeed go to the Liberty Bowl, I pray we play UGA. Sterling Moore could go up against top 5 pick AJ Green. "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: bowl projectionsIt would be so awesome to play an SEC team. Hope we can make it and get selected to play in the Liberty Bowl.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: bowl projectionsTexas cannot go bowling at 5-7.
