au contraire Senator they can. If there are not 70 bowl eligible teams, bowls can select a team that is 5-7 to play. I am assuming because Texas would not only sell its full allotment of tickets, but also generate good ratings, a bowl would not hesitate to select the longhorns.

This point is moot if there are 70 teams with at least 6 wins.

Are you kidding? I wasn't aware of this loophole. Ridiculous.

It is ridiculous. As Herbie said during the Alabama/GA State "game," what has college football come to? It's like we are 5 year olds playing little league baseball, and if you played at all you get a trophy.

Basically, college football is rewarding mediocrity.

TCU to a BCS game while only one SEC team gets a major bowl? Very unlikely IMO.

SMU vs AF in the armed forces? Probably not. AF has been going to the armed forces bowl every year for three years now I think. My guess would be BYU or Utah vs SMU at Ford. Mountain West Bowls are screwed up due to the PAC 10 not having enough bowl eligible teams for New Mexico and Las Vegas.:

1. Las Vegas - TCU versus Notre Dame.
2. Poinsettia - SDSU versus Navy.
3. Independence - AF versus ACC.
4. Armed forces - BYU versus SMU
5. New Mexico - Utah versus at large

I didn't think Texas could go bowling at 5-7. However, even if they were extended a bowl invite they should turn it down. They are not deserving this year.
