Strength of sch of top 3 b10 teams:

Ohio state - 59
Wisc - 61
Msu - 67

Compare:

Tcu - 68

Boise - 73

Looks like equal enough gauntlets to
Me.

ESP if u consider that none of these teams was going to lose to a bottom40 team anyway.

In other words, so what that Ohio state played a "harder " Indiana while Boise played Utah state. Neither team was gonna lose to those anyway but Utah state hurts bsu SOS more than indianas does to Osu.

What is the SOS for the Big East and ACC winners? ANd why are those weak teams given an automatic bid? It is about the entire system, not just one or two teams in one or two conferences.

To me, part of the fallacy of the BCS is that the BCS conferences have declared that they are the strongest conferences and the only ones fit to play for a national championship. By definition then, everyone not in a BCS conference is a weaker program and the polls are influenced by whether a team is in a BCS conference or not. Chances are, when a non AQ team plays a team that is in a AQ conference, they have to play them at their home, against a huge home crowd and since it a road game the non AQ team is already at a disadvantage.

Now, how does anyone know if the schedule of AQ conferences is tougher or not since the teams probably don't play one another? For instance, how do we know which is tougher, Indiana or Fresno State? Which is tougher, Mississippi State or Utah State? In other words, the BCS has set up the conditions whereby teams are judged and those conditons favor the teams in the AQ conferences. How many times have we seen a college program get really good or really bad in one year? An example might be TU. Last year they played for the national championship and if their QB had not gotten hurt would probably have won it. This year, they stink! I guarantee you that if Boise State or TCU had not been winning everything for several years in a row, they would be lucky to be ranked in the top twenty. And yet they would be the same powerful teams they are today.

The whole BCS thing is a fix and is shameful and it should be abolished.
