Re: Ohio State Prez Tells TCU, Boise St. where its at...I'd love to see either TCU or Boise matched up against Ohio State; I will grant the Big 10 (this season) is stronger (more balanced) than the WAC or MWC, but Big 10 has their own "little sisters". Indiana football? Minnesota this year? Yes, let's keep it real.
Hawaii, Fresno, Nevada, Utah, SDSU are all pretty competitive but there are more "little sisters" in both the WAC and MWC than you will see in the Big 10. That's been my argument for the SEC. Not many "gimmes" in that league. TCU and Boise have not been tested week in, week out like Ohio State has been in conference play. I think that's all we're saying here
Re: Ohio State Prez Tells TCU, Boise St. where its at...
It's already become a LOT more than that. Gee tossed a huge burning ember into a tinderbox of discontent that cannot now be easily extinguished. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/n ... sosu112410 Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.
Re: Ohio State Prez Tells TCU, Boise St. where its at...Indiana would be a top 3 team in COnf USA...Lets not even discuss the fact that top to bottom the big 10 is so much better than the MWC or Wac...its not even close...
make the argument that the big east or acc suck, but don't mess with the big boys...
Re: Ohio State Prez Tells TCU, Boise St. where its at...CUSA sucks-there are no nationally competitive programs in CUSA. We are talking about nationally competitive programs in recent years like Boise, TCU, Utah and to a lesser degree BYU. TCU has an 80% winning percentage since 2004 against the "Big Boys". Boise has a 7 game winning streak against BCS schools. Here are Indiana's results this year. They are a patsy and they couldn't stay on the field against TCU or Boise. Indiana beat Towson(Sagarin No. 204), Akron(No. 216), Western Kentucky(No. 171), Arkansas St(No. 134) (barely ) playing 3 of 4 at home. Not exactly Murderer's Row. If you must compare CUSA each and every SMU victory is easily better than any of those teams

Re: Ohio State Prez Tells TCU, Boise St. where its at...
Let's not get too crazy now. I agree, the Big 10 is certainly a tougher conference, but Indiana? They'd lose easily to C Fla and S Miss, and lose at least half of the games against SMU, Tulsa, E Carolina, Houston, UAB, and Marshall. That puts them in about middle of the pack, squeaking into a bowl game likely at 6-6 depending on how weak a non-conference schedule they play. They gave up 83 points to Wisconsin for God's sake! I know Wisconsin is ranked but EIGHTY THREE POINTS!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Re: Ohio State Prez Tells TCU, Boise St. where its at...They are competitive in every Big 10 game except Wisco, who was out to make a statement and the fact that IU QB was out...
Stallion, Mr. Rivals rank correlation man will agree that the majority of the big 10 has vastly better ratings than TCU, boise, ect... Listen I think TCU is a fine team, but they don't compete for a championship in the big ten...
Re: Ohio State Prez Tells TCU, Boise St. where its at...Ohio St's Murderer's Row to a Big 10 Co-Championship:
Marshall at HOME Miami at HOME Ohio at HOME Eastern Michigan at HOME Illinois Road Indiana at HOME Purdue at HOME Minnesota Road Penn St at HOME Iowa Road http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/SportS ... PSID=87745 Both Boise and TCU could easily have won ALL these games especially with the favorable HOME schedule. Wisconsin might be tough but Ohio St didn't beat them either. They have beaten EXACTLY 1 Top 25 team the mighty No. 24 team in the Country 7-4 Iowa Last edited by Stallion on Thu Nov 25, 2010 11:42 am, edited 1 time in total.

The Minnesota road game -- 52-10 -- was actually an exhibition game. ![]()
Re: Ohio State Prez Tells TCU, Boise St. where its at...I hate Ohio State, but if that is your rational you are an idiot...
Ohio State more than any big 10 team has taken on a difficult out of Conference BCS team each year...This year the schedule a Miami team many thought would be in title contention... The schedule also includes @Wisconsin, penn state, iowa, and michigan....I would doubt TCU would be over 500 vs those teams... They also in the past have played Home and homes with Texas and USC... Let me know when TCU plays anyone better than clemson... WHy don't we also look at you other fav. stats big stal? Producing NFL players...The big ten and SEC are totally dominate in this category a pure statement of actual talent on a team... I know that you would love to make out with GP and TCU alumni if possible but they will let you do that without making ridiculous arguments...
Re: Ohio State Prez Tells TCU, Boise St. where its at...Your response reveals the Emperor's Is Not Wearing Any Clothes-who exactly has Ohio St beaten that Boise St and TCU have proven they can't? The Big 10 is an easy target-writers and posters from around the country only need to go back and check the the Patsys and Judy's from the MAC and Division 1-AA schools which the Big 10 schools have lined up at HOME. There simply is no real evidence that TCU and Boise could not at least go 11-1 and have a good shot at 12-0 playing that schedule. Even the computers reveal that the bluster coming from the Big 10 is total [deleted].

Re: Ohio State Prez Tells TCU, Boise St. where its at...BTW, the Big 10 is probably on track to get 2 BCS bids again between Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan State.
I absolutely think the Big 10 champion could -- didn't say would -- could beat Oregon or Auburn. This conference has deservedly earned criticism in recent years. I don't think that's the case this year nor was it last year.
Re: Ohio State Prez Tells TCU, Boise St. where its at...I stated it pretty clearly [deleted]....
TCU would not be over 500 playing Miami, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, Penn State... We will never be able to find out, but I have seen TCU play a lot and there is a talent difference between those teams and TCU...
Re: Ohio State Prez Tells TCU, Boise St. where its at...So your position is that TCU couldn't beat 3 unranked opponents and the No. 24 team-3 of which would be played at HOME. The Big 10 is a Mirage built on playing 3-4 Patsys and Judys with 3 of 4 HOME games. Just pull back the curtain on the Big 10 and reveal that the Emperor Ain't Wearing any Clothes-which pisses all the Big 10 homers off. Apparently, every AP witer and every coach in the Country plus every computer ranking disagrees with you except with regard to Wisconsin which is still rated below TCU and Boise. In other words a position that is uncredible based on any fair analysis of what has transpired on the field.

Re: Ohio State Prez Tells TCU, Boise St. where its at...
No reason to get personal when arguing a completely unproven hypothetical point. You MAY be right, then again Stallion MIGHT be right. In the end, it's all about perception. My perception in what I've seen is that Ohio State tends to lose when they face quality ranked opponents in recent BCS bowls, which leads me to believe that the Big 10 is softer than many think. Sure, top to bottom, it's tougher than the Mountain West, but parphrasing what someone else stated on this thread, there isn't much difference in beating the 80th team in the nation vs. the 100th. The only difference is one makes your SOS look better.
Re: Ohio State Prez Tells TCU, Boise St. where its at...I think the bottom line is that the OSU guy is off his [deleted] rocker if he thinks that TCU and Boise don't deserve a shot at the BCS title game after what they've done, particularly if you look at it cumulatively over the last few years.
Think about it--taking this guy's position to its logical conclusion, nobody who is not in a BCS conference should ever play in the title game, which is the antithesis of the BCS's main argument in support of its position that it is not violating anti-trust laws. Stallion, call your first witness.... I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
