Saw this tidbit in Tuesday's Dallas Morning News. Gerry Fraley wrote a column called "Just Venting" that included this nugget:

Coach runner-up: To avoid a repeat of the controversey that errupted at the College World Series when runner-up Texas skipped the awards ceremony, football coach Mack Brown should attend all future championship events involving the Longhorns. No one is more familiar with not winning a title than Brown.
