No one- not even ED could run behind the lines we've seen for the past 2 years. The guy who could make the biggest difference on THIS team would be Levias. Kickoff returns, punt returns, get him the ball on short slants and watch him make the DB's miss. A truly electrifying player- he made some fairly good teams look VERY good..

you might be right-but only if our opponent were required to defend him with 11 slow white guys as LeVias faced in the day. Otherwise, the correct answer is Dickerson although LeVias is my all-time favorite player.

I have to go with Dickerson as well. And Bus, if I am not mistaken, I thought the first team o-line started the first two series of each half, and then alternated. At least that's what I remember when Collins was the coach.

Maybe this is nieve - but I think Dickerson could do unbelieveable things behind even todays offensive line. I never understood why he did not get the ball more then half the time - he would have set records nobody could think about touching. He probably has his NFL carrer highlights because he was not overused at SMU, but as a selfish SMU fn I wish we had seen more of him. James was a great back but I think it was obvious from their junior year on Dickerson was something truely special.

I believe the ED teams would have been just about as good without him. James was sure no slouch to have to give the ball to and he also could throw the halfback pass. ED may have been the best athlete we ever had but not the difference amker Levias was. Stallion- while I agree the SWC has white guys, the were also posting national championships against a lot of teams who weren't all white. Jerry was all pro, I believe, as a rookie and that was as good as the competiton had at the time. I failed to mention that Levias also threw a coupl,e of TD passes on end arounds. All arer welcome to their opinion but I never saw a bigger difference maker at SMU. My number 2 might actually be Louie

Josh had his shot and was a sitting duck with our line. I saw him throw three interceptions and get sacked about five times against NC State. He needed time to throw and receivers. He was not a game breaker in any sense of the word. One name which hasn't been mentioned here though is Ramon Flanagan. He could make something out of nothing as well.

Ah, yes...Bobby Leach. Who can forget the 'miracle' in Lubbock against the TT Raiders!
