At our current rate of progression I will take another Hawaii Bowl appearance. It gives me a good excuse not to go and in a year or 2 I will be able to afford tickets to our BCS bowl game!!!!

I know June wants to go back to Hawaii, but I would LOVE to see the team stay on the mainland ... ONLY way some of us are going to get to go ... June hear our cries!!!!!!

Just curious about the recruiting angle. I dont see alot of Polynesians on your team. The Armed Forces Bowl would be better IMO. A very well run Bowl that will sellout. Recruits can drive to the game and experience the Campus again and the tailgating. Not quite as wild as the TCU game but a packed Ownby can only be a good thing.

The Bowl Committee really does a good job with pregame festivities plus you get the Flyover.

We stayed home for the 1st one and, to offset any disappointment that the team may have had for not travelling, TCU put them up in a 5* hotel for the week outside the City. Sellout and had a goodtime partying outside the stadium with Boise fans before the game. Then our kicker choked on the last play of the game and we partied with BSU fans afterward. Goodtime and a short ride home.

I think the recruiting tool that Nick is referring to is being the only game for recruits to watch on the 24th and the team getting a trip to Hawaii instead of staying home. That being said, I would also like a mainland game.

True. But if you can get your hotties to the game, even in snow bunny garb, and a full house, that will trump anything they can see on TV from Hawaya IMO.

Did anyone watch the way these guys talk about going to hawaii last year and when recruits come on officials, isn't it a nice sell to say you get a week in hawaii....

I originally thought the same thing, but 40 and sunny in dallas is not a week in hawaii...unless you are playing to represent cusa as champion or BCS game...the bowl is a reward for the players and those guys will tell you they would much rather go back to hawaii...

Why don't we just split our home schedule between Dallas and Honolulu, sort of like Arkansas with Fayetteville and Little Rock? Why limit it to MAYBE once a year?

Yeah. We really brought in outstanding recruits when we were in the WAC and went to Hawaii every other year.
