I for one look forward to seeing soccer matches take place in the middle of the desert with 100 degree weather.

Maybe Qatar just won't be around by 2022. It's like inviting someone you know can't make it to a party. It's nice to invite them knowing there's absolutely no way they'll ever be able to go. You look good, they're happy, and they won't be there. Maybe they're just doing the same thing with them.
