Best home field advantage???

Postby PonySnob » Fri Jul 23, 2004 9:50 pm

Since football came back from the DP (judging by our lack of success, hard to say it has really come back!) what stadium that SMU has called home field has been most difficult for the visiting teams?

My vote is for Ownby due to the lack of proper facilities for the visting team at the stadium. Remember walking down Airline from Moody with the visiting team?

Judging by the ponies win/loss record since the return of football. I'd say NONE of your home venues were all that difficult for opposing teams

The best post DP record was in the Cotton Bowl where we beat Arkansas 3 out of 4 years.

We also won in Fayetteville one year--took a road trip to that game, what a blast to see D. Womack exact vengeance for being snubbed by Ark.

Was the Little Rock game the infamous Tornado Bowl? (a tornado touched down several miles from the stadium and civil defense sirens went off during the game...I believe that game was also televised...)
