what gave you the idea the game was played at a neutral site? I loved the hostile envrironment; wish we could dish the same to our opponents when they come to Ford.

Had a lot of fun "pre game" walking the gaunlet with an old classmate. We were thoroughly booed walking thru UCF's Memorial Mall (tailgate area). Crowd was great and represented CUSA well. I hope we don't lose UCF to the Big East, but they are clearly an "up and comer". Just passed Ohio State as the 2nd largest University (student population wise) in the U.S. (2nd only to Texas). We would miss them if the join TCU in the Big East.

I agree with comments about Padron missing on the deep throws...with the exception of the Hawaii Bowl, we seem to hit on only 10-20% and it's frustrating to see Al get separation only to have to slow and wait for the deep throws...or to watch the ball air mailed out of reach.

UCF clearly had the better team out there today, but our guys never quit. Even got our hopes up in that 4th quarter.

Hopefully next year WE can host the CUSA Championship game.

not enough interest in CUSA to play this game at a neutral site. UCF did a great job hosting.

2) Can we fire Tom Mason now?

3) All day long the defense was out of position. On runs our front 7 seemed to be running past the ball carrier constantly.

4) Our CBs were playing 12 yards off their WRs. Why?

5) Credit to Justin Smart. He played well when Yenga went out.

6) This was Padron's worst performance...EVER! Every pass was underthrown by at least 3 yards.

7) The O line actually did a decent job giving Padron time, but he reminded me of Ben Roethlisberger... standing and standing until the pocket just collapses. I yelled numerous times "Throw the ball!!!"

8 ) Aldrick should have come back to the ball.

9) Can June Jones have more guts when it comes to tough decisions?? Geez!! Go for it on 4th and 1!

10) I am a Zach Line fan.

11) We proved today that we didn't deserve to be in this game. UCF made us look like a high school team.

12) Time to start recruiting hard for next year.

This post is what is embarassing.

[quote="SMUguy"]• Bowl game will not be like a home game. I heard today that Army already has asked for more than its normal allotment of tickets. Every PonyFan in north Texas HAS to be there, and a hell of a lot more fans from neighboring states and around Texas, too. We HAVE to make sure we have more fans there, but the service academies always draw well.

THis makes me nervous-Army is asking for more tickets and we haven't even had a chance to buy ours! Since I'm not a season ticket holder I have to wait until after 5 on Friday and hope there are more tickets.........which is why I'm seeing that I might want to become a season ticket holder soon. My parents had season tickets at Texas Stadium---probably from 80-82 or 83. I don't remember having to wait like this to buy my tickets when we went to Hawaii for the ALoha Bowl.

To suggest that Mason should be fired after that game is embarrassing and uninspired. I think Mason's game plan and in game coaching was good yesterday. To hold UCF, the best team in the conference, to 17 was a victory of the defense. The game was not lost by the D and even if you don't take the injuries into consideration, giving up 17 was not bad and it would have been 13 if JJ declines the penalty on the first drive.

They can ask for extras all they want, but unless we do not sell our allotment they will not get them. That is the key. We need to be sure that Mustang supporters buy up our share.

Not sure why we are even responding to this ridiculous post.

UCF was the better team, no question. Their OL was huge. Defense played well - this thing could have gotten out of hand. Our defense schemes work well with our lack of size and depth. We had a ton of injuries. What was frustrating was their RB's were pretty slow out of the gate.

When Padron is scrambling - I didn't see many receivers coming back to the ball to help him out. This was happening mostly in the 4th quarter when he was getting pressure. He had good protection all day, it was breaking down in the 4th.

They played this game at a neutral site? Did you miss the [deleted] memo?

We really shouldn't have all responded to this post.....the musings from Texasscout96 were obviously drug related.

After reading the initial post, I went back and watched the game again on ESPN3 just to make sure my memory was correct. I thought the defense got progressively better as the game went on in spite of the injuries. We got several stops and a whole lot of pressure on Godfrey. Keeping them at 17 was impressive considering how many key players were on the bench.

On the offense, who knows what all went wrong. Padron had moments of brilliance, the 4th down throw to Holman was beautiful. But then he came back the next play I believe and threw an interception trying to hit Robinson. He definitely held the ball too long and looked out of synch with his WRs.

All year we have struggled against better or more athletic teams. Our defense matched up quite well, but UCFs defense had our number yesterday.

I'm not sure why there is so much teeth gnashing. After 25 years of disappointment, its nice to see us in back-to-back bowl games. Think of the progress from 1-11 to now. Think of the demons we have put behind us - conference road wins, beating Rice in Houston, OT victory, conference championship game, beat a BCS team, bowl game win. In just 3 years, Jones has made us relevant again. And this team is still young. I'm looking forward to seeing all these sophomores as seniors, along with some talented reserves that are coming in.
