Illinois beats Northwestern 48-27. Illinois loses last night to Fresno St 25-23 (who is 8-4 overall, 5-3 in the WAC). The WAC is considered to be a weaker conference than the Mountain West, but let's presume they are equal.

So by this logic, Northwestern is not as good as a middle of the road WAC team, therefore they are weaker than TCU.

all those scores tell you is that Northwestern, Illinois and Fresno all fall into the category of having competitive teams that can upset good teams on any given day...especially on their home fields. We are close to being in that same category. Hopefully by next year we will be. And before you tell me we are already in that category, just remember, we own exactly ONE victory this season against a team with a winning record

Yeah, sorry about that. I was dumbing it down to your level because you think Northwestern can run the table in the WAC or Mountain West.

Exactly right. Nick is trying to convince everyone that Northwestern is as good as TCU. Just showing that you can use his same sort of ignoramous logic to prove any point you want to.

Where you at the tcu game?

Those guys are not the next coming, they are a nice team that would lose 3 games playing a big ten schedule...

TCU is good enough to win most if not all their home games against anyone from the Big 10 and they would beat most of that bunch on the road. With their SR QB, they don't beat themselves. TCU is right there with Ohio St, Wisconsin and Mich St. I think we are going to see a very entertaining Rose Bowl.

I agree they may not run the table with a Big 10 schedule, but I don't see 3 losses unless they had a bad road schedule and had to play at Ohio St, at Wisconsin, at Penn State and at Iowa while hosting the lesser teams from that conference. I do agree games like these I've mentioned would have been much tougher than the game we gave them at Ford

Walking into camp randell, happy valley, the big house, horseshoe, and iowa are all losses...

Figure 2 times a year you have to do that.....Thats 2 losses a year....

I'm sure a 3rd would happen as well....

I will be very surprised if they ever run the table again in the big east...but they won't have to as conn. proved...

Of course I was. But I'm not arguing that TCU might get a loss or two hung on them if they were in the Big 10. I'm saying that your claim that Northwestern is as good as TCU is ridiculous.

I thought the same thing until I saw TCU visit Clemson and come away with a win...thanks to a stellar defensive performance. They will really need their D to step up to beat Wisconsin, but it could happen. Most of the national media seems to think Wisconsin will hang 50 on them...after all, they have been hanging 70-80 pts on their Big 10 conference mates recently.
