Uhmm really?

Army vs Tulane
2008
L 44-13
291 Rushing Yards 6.6ypc

2009
W 17-16
196 Yards 3.5 ypc a good year

2010
L41-23
312 yards 5.2 ypc

Not exactly shutting it down

not sure about 2008 but Schumann was at UAB the last two years, not Tulane

The plays in that highlight reel were nice, but he'd have to learn a new offense.

The strength of Army's ground game (other than Steelman at QB) is containing Jared Hassin. He's a bruising inside guy and opens up the outside running game for Army. I'm not worried about their passing game. Take out Hassin and it should help.

Yep, from what I'm told, (not read) he's done. BEAT ARMY!

The full back is always the key back in the triple option which is why, if you handle him, you cripple that offense.

Good point. Vince Murray was a beast for Navy when they beat us. Hassin is good too. I haven't been impressed with Army's outside guys this year though. lots of speed obviously but nobody with that extra kick.

The guys with the extra kick have been banged up, but they're healthy now.

Malcom Brown (5.6 ypc) hasn't played since being injured against Rutgers. Brian Cobbs (6.2 ypc) had only 9 carries in one four game stretch earlier this season (Tulane, Rutgers, VMI, AF) and left the ND game with a concussion after the first series (on which he had 5 carries & 4.4 ypc).

When SMU played Ohio State in Columbus in about 73-74, it was a relatively close game. SMU was using the Wishbone and the SMU fullback gained more that 100 yards, (as I remember and I can't remember his name), and Woody Hayes visited the SMU dressing room after the game to congratulate the team and that fullback on his toughness.

That's interesting- IIRC Woody rarely ever went to visit the other team after a game.

GO PONIES!!!

I looked up the score and I think it was 28-9, in 1974. OSU was 10-2, losing only to Michigan(I think) and USC in the Rose Bowl. They beat almost everyone else by really lopsided scores, except SMU. That story was related to me bay a close friend, the head coach at SMU.

I take it back, OSU barely lost to Michigan State and to USC in the Rose Bowl. They had one other fairly close victory against Minnesota besides SMU. If I remember right that was Louis Kelcher's senior year and I am sure OSU's power rushing attack was impeded some by Kelcher and crew. Kelcher was a load and perhaps the best D lineman to ever play at SMU.
